Not impressed with the included hardware for the water tank kit. Everything drives on fine the first time, but on trying to remove a few fasteners the nylocks seize on the A2-70 threads, then break the shank. After several test fits and removals, I’ve broken two, and completely stripped the threads off a third.

Stainless has its place, but this does not seem to be it. I think I will break them all out, and replace with stronger and more lubricious 10.9 and my own nylocks as I don’t trust these at all now. I feel for anyone that has to remove theirs; good luck.
Never Seize on all stainless steel fasteners. Either ceramic or bronze brass based.

Water tank users.... Had to camp at 23°F overnight, and the hose and spigot froze solid. Now I'm looking at self-regulating heat tape on a switched house battery circuit, under pipe insulation. Seems normal in RV circles (though 12V DC heat tape is rarer than 120V AC types), seems to draw a couple of amps which is OK for me. Anyone tried this? Was the self-regulating type effective, or did you need additional thermostats or current limiting?

I have been working on some Locking Rear Door and Bulkhead Aluminum Lockers. What do you think? Should I put these into production?
I really like that rear door locker, especially with the deadbolt, but not sure I'd need the doors of the cabinet to actually lock. If you've gotten that far into breaking in, you obviously have to to figure that out too. I've struggled to have convenient storage above my Expedition Essentials sliding stove table. As for the bulkhead, I use the stock water tank there, although I might be interested in one of it mounted over the tank. The little pockets that hang on it leave a lot to be desired.

My first thought: would much prefer matching Industrilas 2-398s rather than have yet another orphan key that only does one thing. I know: easy for me to say, might be harder to implement

My second thought was, what mods would I have to do to the inside of the cabinets to keep my stuff from bouncing around the hard interior like a rock tumbler on trails and washboard. More shelves, soft padded interior, Velcro…

(same question that led me to building my interior around big molle plates and soft molle pouches for the bulk of my gear, see below, including 813 driver side plate :)

I have been thinking about this myself. Can you tell me what the process was for it? Did you already have the AluCab on the truck so did you have to remove it? Did they do the uninstall and reinstall? What about electronics I have a full Redarc system installed in the truck with 200ah battery and solar and all.

This looks so nice and the extra outside storage has to be a game changer.

Thanks
Neville

I sent it out to colorado with the alu cab canopy camper on the truck, and they took it off and mounted to the bed. After bowen was finished they dropped it off to juniper overland and they installed all electric, vecel interior, solar and situated my joolca shower. You should give Stu and Brent a call they can walk you thru it, very cool and understanding guys, and they can point you in the right direction. If something else is needed they can send down to Juniper, they have a very good relationship. It is an absolute game changer, if you talk to them tell them rick sent ya!
