ahh, did some research, it got 1 star by euro test standards because of non standard equipment.
I disagree with your above STATEMENT

Jeep seriously F$@@ up crash testing and possible engineering designs on the JL, will the Gladiator have similar issues?

Read Euro crash testing shows:
1.) passenger AND driver have massive chest and thigh damage at 60kph- 40mph!! 2.) the roll cage and footwell are deforming and not retaining cabin integrity, assume full failure at higher speeds
3.) rear passenger serious head injury for side strike
4.) exterior pedestrian injury, which I don’t care as much about
5.) loss if possible 5th star because no atonomous braking.

Something was seriously missed by FCA to fail these tests at 40MPH! So if the Gladiator basically has a JL front end, will it perform better?!

It Might . . . only because IT's underpinnings are improved to be "truck worthy" - for towing and hauling purposes, but perhaps safety as well . . . time will tell . . . ? Goo-day ? Sorry I don't know the lingo or how to spell it . I usually say \, Take Care ! ps; word on the street . . . aren't Aussie Off Roaders more into Toyota's ? Seems of all the Down under Videos I've consumed, Something other than a JEEP is prevalent !

G’Day! But I’m a California boy over here. Aussie’s do love their Toyota’s, and all 4wd utes (mid-sized trucks) so the Gladiator should sell ok here.

I’m laughing at y’all complaining about the JL price. It was just FINALLY released in Australia and a full kitted Rubicon is almost AU $80K (which is about US $57k).

Figure Gladiator Rubi will tip the AU $85+ scale (ouch)

What's the average household income in AU?

"While the average household earns just under $110,000" So if the Rubiglator will be $85k AU, that's 77% of your average annual household income. https://mccrindle.com.au/insights/blog/australias-household-income-wealth-distribution/

For the USA a $65,000 Rubiglator would be 106% of the average annual household income of $61372.
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/12/median-household-income-climbs-to-new-high-of-61372.html

So....... you shouldn't be laughing at us because we're paying 29% more of our wages to get the truck on average and our bitching is justified.

Mate! Can you please bother to do a little bit of research before you post. I saw you earlier commenting on winning a prize for the most JL/Gladiator posts. sooo if your going to comment on Euro ratings, or the average AU income, at least bother to look into it before you just drop useless "facts" to up your number of posts.

I'm happy with anyone, you included, that progresses the thread or conversation in a meaningful or intelligent way (like your spreadsheet of options per model). I DESPISE having to sort through dribble, inaccuracies and total BS! I (and I'm sure others reading this) don't have the time or energy to sort through posts that pose as "fact" but aren't. I'd think Americans (I'm actually from the USA as well) would be a bit sick of it after having so much "fake news" ya'll have to sort out.

From the Sydney Morning Hearld:
https://www.smh.com.au/money/planni...d-with-other-australians-20180410-p4z8s4.html

"Well, the median gross household income was $1616 a week for 2015-2016, the most recent figures available from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. That equates to $84,032 a year.

But of course, households come in different shapes and sizes, so the ABS calculates the “equivalised disposable income” – the household income after tax, but adjusted for the size of the household. The median is $853 a week, or $44,356 a year."
Cheers from summer in Oz...

mate, I posted where the stats came from. If you don't like them, take it up with that site. Also you just proved my point. If the average household in AU makes $85K,then a JTR would be about 100% of your annual average income. ABOUT THE SAME AS IN THE USA. so we're in the same boat, chief. Lol

JL sales are slowing because all of us are waiting for the JT instead of buying a JL. Right?
I was set to order a JL, until I heard about the gladiator.

no offense, but your definition of "doing ok" could be another man's, How do I make ends meet. Its all relative to your lifestyle and spending habits.

Went to the Brisbane JeepClub Website . . . Very Nice . . . didn't realize there IS a Fan Club for the Wrangler ! Tell me, you say your American ? So then, you avoid Winter by traveling back and forth to Australia and California - Winter here/Summer their kinda thing ? That sounds like FUN, wish I had the means - I'd prefer NZ. - for the Fly Fishing ! I know a guy who runs a (the) lodge on the South Island . However, financially, we are in 2 different worlds . Are you a Captain of some sort ?
