Any ARE CX Classic Buying Tips?

Interested in getting one of these. Aside from the apparent QC issues (ugh), it seems like your local dealer sets the price you pay? Any ideas on how much is too much to pay, and any specific dealers that people know offer good deals? I'm not against traveling to get one. I'd buy used too, but haven't seen one listed in a while.

Shop around and be willing to drive. When I was initially looking for a cap on my Tacoma, the CX HD prices varied by about $700 buying near DC and if I was willing to drive out to rural VA/MD/WV a couple hours out. Otherwise just read reviews about installations and otherwise the cap is the same product no matter where you buy.

No matter what brand cap you get , the flip up to open side windows is awesome, I can easily reach into front of bed. ARE caps have a real nice look to them.

I had a couple dealers in my greater area, and they weren't too much different, so I went with the closer location. Definitely shop around.

Mine was $2,840 before tax. (Installation fee $175 and a $75 discount) My post.

Awesome. Yeah the truck is a Gupton baby so I may even try to contact a few dealers in the Nashville area since I know I'll have to be down there in two months or so.
