For mine, the tsb was 18-042-22A , but mine is manual, and the TSB number is different on the autos, so I have no idea what it is for you "normies" with autos.
This isn't for valve train ticking or cam or rockers, etc.
It's indeed the one for misfire detection and oddly- ping at idle, which would be PCM related, and not valve train at all.
It's also for any 3.6 w/ESS I see no code for manual transmission in it.
2021 Gladiator, NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine Up Grade I W/ESS (Sales Code ERC).

----------------
Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following DTC: • **P0300 - Multiple Cylinder Misfire.**
In addition, customers may experience the following concern: • Spark knock/detonation sound from the engine at idle.
-----------------
The latter is to do with controlling timing, temperature, and compression.

So if you have a valve train tick, if you have actual valve train issues, this isn't the fix.

They actually replaced the cam and only a couple of rockers? Weird!
IMO, when replacing a cam, all followers/rockers, should be replaced together.
Did they bother to check the lash adjusters (commonly called lifters although they are not) as well, or just toss in the cam and a couple of the rockers and call it good?

Ah, ok. So all 6 - 3 intake, 3 exhaust.
Hope the thing had the correct lash adjusters in the correct spots - some of the 2020s had them mixed up and that's a problem - intake and exhaust are different.

Well camshaft and all associated components were replaced again. This time 5000 miles. FCA just called me about a buyback. Anyone had any luck with this? Thanks in advance.

Watching this one - I don't know your whole situation, or how much you have invested (money, time, sweat, blood, etc.) or how much of a deal a buy-back might be in this case, but, depending, I might be interested in hearing them out. One time and then a few thousand with no issues I can see, but twice, same thing? Makes me nervous, personally.

Well Gladiator came back Wednesday after second go round with camshaft/rockers and lifters. Today it decided to cover my driveway with its own fluids. Call dealership and told to call for a tow. It get better the dealership couldn't care less with a loaner. Called FCA and told to go get a rental. But none to be had. This Gladiator is the biggest POS I have ever owned.

God damn.

Gladiators don't shit fluids normally.

Your dealer employs morons who shouldn't be allowed to touch a wrench.

Have this bought back. It's clear the repairs were NEVER done correctly.

Second time for cam and lifters, and this time a mess-up on repairs (these are pretty leak-proof for the most part - leaks aren't common)

I'd bet you are past the criteria for lemon law.......

As far as "loaners" or "rental" - that's a big issue - shortages in many places. Dealers have had to sell their loaners to survive while they couldn't even get cars to sell, rental companies have cycled their their rental vehicles and can't get new - just like people here waiting since February for a new truck, it's a problem.

My son said his last flight the hardest part was trying to find a rental vehicle - no one had any.

i had a conversation with my own dealer when i brought it in for the steering clunk. They said if no loaner was available and i would have to get my own. When i confronted them about the jeep extended warranty stating it covered the cost of loaners they straight up told me to deal with it. What garbage. a person pays extra cash for services to not be given.

meanwhile. Im still hearing that ticking myself. Tryin to decide when to bring it in to see if its normal or not.

OP. Sure sucks bout your situation. i wonder if lemmon law would even cover it though? Seems your dealer is not being very cooperative. Sadly this is what can be experienced all across the nation with nearly every single industry. A huge amount of people with a idgaf attitudes…. Its gonna hurt all of us eventually.

My guess is that they'll cover the cost, you go get a rental, pay, and then they reimburse you.
But I'd call Jeep support to get that verified, or one of the people mentioned in the forums here who sell such warranties. They'll be more honest about what's covered or not, and how to get reimbursement for rentals if that's how it works.
I know in my case, where insurance covers a certain amount of road-side assistance on my wife's Jeep - you pay, send insurance a claim form with a copy of the invoice showing what you paid and that you did pay, and they cut you a check for that amount.
These days getting a loaner is not all that easy, and even rental companies are stretched thin in places.

This is from the standard warranty book -

I don't have a copy of the "extended" optional warranties, likely those vary a bit anyway.
