I'm going off the product's description:

To be honest, even if it isn't zippers and it's velcro strips instead, that's worse. Nothing fun about trying to apply tension to velcro.
Oh gotcha!

I get their concept though. Cost effective solution to a soft top for people who don’t want to dish out the big bucks for OEM.

For me, buckle straps and zippers are a deal breaker. Those are not fun to deal with. That's one of the things I think Jeep did right on the JT, no zippers. Feels like going backwards to have to deal with those again.
Dude my jk zippers gave me ptsd. No reason for that shit to be that complicated. The back window was the worst. The new system is eons better.

Killing time on Quadratec site and this popped up...

Rugged Ridge Voyager Soft Top
Looks interesting and gives you quick access to full open, but I'll stick with my BestTop Sunrider. Slightly lower price point ($749) if you can believe that and full/proper fit. Wondering if the rear window won't flap like crazy on the hwy like my late 80's wrangler soft top...

Larger tinted side windows offer greater visibility and are easily removed by means of heavy-duty self-correcting zippers while the built-in overhead panels make a great place to store those windows so you can grab them quickly in case you get caught in a sudden downpour.
Quadretec or Rugged Ridge really need to up their game when it comes to descriptions. There is only one window and it's the rear window so it's confusing as to whether or not that window stores in pocket(s) it is talking about.

I dont have an easy way of removing the hardtop so this looks really interesting to me. I was planning to get a soft top just for the summer months and this looks much friendlier to my wallet. I never owned a jeep before my Gladiator. Can anyone explain to me whats so bad about zippers?

I can not speak about the issues with the jeep. However, I'd say, based on my experience with our miata and celica, pop-up tent trailer, shrinkage (due to age)of the top material causes difficulty in zipping it close. Gaps between teeth is also pita. Zipper obviously breaks overtime. A repair could cost you a bundle. But of course, maintenance and care is key. A rear glass window is best, but with the Gladiator, it won't give you the convertible open feel imo.
This item is on my wish list. Hoping we can get a group buy on this one and with paypal 3-4 month pay plan...it would be a sweet deal! Oh wait, I still have to check with my sweetie boss...as my friends tell me, I have ASTHMA....askma wife. Hehehe.

I’m waiting for Mastertop to make one. I loved the one I had on my JK. Three piece—including the cable top—that zipped together. On and off in no time and stored on the Jeep. Nearly waterproof and high quality. I kept it on all summer. And only about $400. We need something like that. Come on Mastertop!!!

I've been waiting since I purchased my JT for an aftermarket soft top option, and this isn't what I'd hoped for.

I'm literally on the fence as to if I want to spent $2,000 on the OEM soft top, and even at half the price this isn't doing it for me. What I really want is a @Bestop top. If only they were in the business of making tops...

I just ordered one today. 6 to 8 weeks for delivery, so hopefully I'll have it in time for spring. I couldn't stomach paying the price for the OEM top and not a fan of the man bun. So, I thought I'd give this one a try. Zippers can be problematic, but I had TJ's with zippers and as long as you keep them lubricated they work fine. I like the fact the top has a flip opening for the front seats or goes completely open.

So this looks to be the JT version of the RR Voyager or Rampage Trailview they made for the JLU. I purchased the Voyager for the wife’s JLU Willys last year. Here’s what I know about that top:

The Velcro attachments that some are concerned about are only above the driver and passenger seats. This is what allows for the easy flip back top. Undo the two latches above the window visors, push up and the top goes back, about like the sun rider but slightly different.
You have to assemble the rails that run from the windshield all the way to the rear. Above the rear seats, the top attaches with long plastic slip in pieces similar to how TJ tops attached.
The rear window, and side windows on the JLU version, are attached by zippers, then straps with buckles, and Velcro over the top to keep material over the zippers.
The main body of the top has large straps in the back that loop around the roll bars, under the rear seat belts where they attach to the roll bar, then slip through a buckle.
Overall, hers is pretty decent, doesn’t make a lot of noise, and doesn’t leak.
The biggest plus, is that you can undo the rear straps, flip the part over the rear seats forward, then flip the front part back. This puts the entire top above the soundbar which is damn near like having the top completely off.

Hope that helps some of you understand how this top works. Again, that’s for the JLU, but this looks darn identical.

I can't get over how cheap and flimsy it looks, especially the rear window. For the same price you can find a lightly used Mopar top.

Im definitely interested in seeing video reviews about this new option. I know there’s a lot of people who aren’t big fans of the OEM soft top.
