I'm thinking a little psy-ops approach by Mr. Sergio when he said "intentionally expensive". That is making us think upwards of $60K with diesel so if it is actually around $50-$54 with diesel we'll all be jumping for joy and purchase without hesitation when it should actually be $47,000 with diesel.

These CEO muckity mucks much like our (n)ever so trusted government officials know exactly what to say and why they are saying it.

Most mid size trucks have much higher sales numbers for the 4-door short bed models compared to the 2-door versions. Its why Jeep is only making a 4-door version. Even looking at the Wrangler the 4-door outsells the 2-door by a margin of 3 to 1.

Reality disagrees with you - 4 door mid sized pickups *and* 4 door Rubis outsell their 2 door brethren by a considerable margin.
