Makes me feel like Flounder in Dean Wormer's office.I had this terrible dream last night where I priced one out and it was $57,000
And that's the kicker for Jeep right there. People are getting tired of being strung along waiting for Jeep/Chrysler/FCA to release the unicorn and are moving on.Well...
After some consideration, I drove a cement gray 2018 Tacoma OR with premium and tech package off the dealer lot this weekend, and I don't regret it one bit! It's quite a vehicle.
I did a 2 year lease, $4500 off msrp, 81% residual! With all the demand surrounding the jeep truck (meaning no budging on msrp for a while), and wanting to see in person what I like and don't like, I figure after two years from now, the dust might have settled a little and I can make a better informed decision.
If at the two year mark, I decide the jeep isn't going to be better for me, I'll still have a very capable truck in the driveway.
I'll still be lurking here in the meantime.
Stay strong.Yea I built a ZR2 online yesterday as with the aftermarket support for it now getting bigger it is a contender in my book. But thinking I need to hold tight still for the Gladiator.
Yea Im working on it. If the ZR2 had a V6 Diesel with power around the EcoDiesel I would probably be ordering one, but since it dosen't Im holding tight.Stay strong.
They're kinda gutless, huh? Mods?Yea Im working on it. If the ZR2 had a V6 Diesel with power around the EcoDiesel I would probably be ordering one, but since it dosen't Im holding tight.
Yea the Diesel is quite a bit slower then the V6 from the reviews I have seen. They're kinda gutless, huh? Mods?

The TRD Pro comes in at a very reasonable $43K and the ZR2 (with diesel) isn't far behind at $47k. FCA has already said the Gladiator will be intentionally expensive and I'm sure peeps will throw a fit if they can get a Rubicon truck for cheaper than they can get a 4 Door. My money, unfortunately, is on the Gladiator falling more in line with full size truck pricing. I imagine that the premium trim with the diesel will likely be in the $57-60k MSRP.The costs may be high but compare it to a TRD Pro Tacoma or ZR2 Colardo. Those are above MSRP today.
A Rubicon or Ranger Raptor will probably be priced similarly.
