That’s exactly how mine acted. 5 weeks and 2 dealerships to get fixed. Was an issue in harness behind front passenger wheel. Apparently wiggled apart and there are apparently pins in there and one started to come out. Was told there are several grounds in connector
I will have time tomorrow to play around with that part of the truck in hopes I can find a similar probelm. Thank you Cody!

Hopefully you can get it fixed. I’ve seen a lot of jeeps have had similar issues.

Hey Mike, I'm digging into your post & issues now in hopes of finding a clue to my issue. It's my wifes 2020 Sport S with less than 5K miles on it. I put a stereo and alarm in it (at less than 1K miles) and am wondering if the installer (me for the stereo, shop for the alarm) might have pinched a wire in the dash (me with stereo replacement) or the passenger kick panel (alarm electronics).
She is afraid to drive this due to when this issue pops up, you lose everything. If you were on a highway, you would be in deep shit.
I may reach out to you with questions as I'm reviewing and trying to find a solution.
For what it’s worth, I’m not convinced it was the actual crossing of wires that did it. I had also been poking a coat hanger through the grommet that carries all the critical wires through the firewall on the passenger side. I think I actually cut into the wires that ultimately got repaired to fix it versus the door wiring causing it.

I can’t prove it but it seems more plausible to me.

My issue was a straight no start. One of the wires that carry the signal from the CAN network to the PCM we’re severed.

Last week the dealership said told me the part that would fix my Jeep would be here today. When I saw the phone ring at 9am and it was the dealership, part of me thought, "this is it, I might get my Jeep back today!" Nope.... The part was delayed and shipping and won't be here until next week Tuesday now. I'm at the end of my rope with this. Friday marks 30 days that my Jeep has been gone. Next week starts week six. Seriously not happy.

So I dug around not only in the passenger footwell but behind the glove Box. Holy shit are there a lot of wires in the passenger foothwell. Behind the glove Box is where we plugged in to the can system the alarm and steering wheel control after market stereo stuff.. My 12 V buddy that installed the alarm and helped me with stereo said the body stuff is on the passenger side while the engine stuff is in the dash steering side. He felt with the issue we're having it would be in the dashboard and not this area.. I had him remove the alarm system to see if that eliminates any of these issues as it would be easier to live without the GPS alarm than the stereo system. It's only been 4 days now but nothing has happened since.

He wanted me to ask in this chat room what type of electrical modifications people experiencing this issue have done on their gladiators?

At less than 500 miles I tore the entire dashboard apart to install The 8.4" U connect screen along with after market amplifier steering wheel control and 6 1/2 inch speakers all around with JL audio subwoofer below the rear seat In focal 5 channel amp below the passenger front seat. I also installed a Viper GPS remote start alarm at this time. I've installed a lot of car stereo systems and did not feel like any of my work would have anything to do with this issue. However After reading about pinched wires behind the dash from some members posts I questioned my work....
I'm praying this alarm removal makes it go away.

Two connections to my CAN bus (and a bunch of other electrical mods) so far:
1) Stinger Heigh10
2) Livernois MyCalibrator
No issues yet. Only throws codes when I perform a 'Copy EEprom' operation, which I only had to do a couple times to get the Livernois tune dialed in.

Have you mentioned a possible Lemon Law claim to the dealer? It might light a fire under their ass.

I know in MA dealers have to post the Lemon Law terms on all new cars. If you were in MA you could begin proceedings to get your vehicle replaced.

By the way. For all you Gupton buyers, myself included. Lemon law proceedings get a bit twisted for most of us. Jeep and Gupton are bound by the lemon law in the state of Tennissee.

Here's a link to a resource with the text of the law and links to the actual statute.
https://www.autosafety.org/tennessee-lemon-law/

Here's the meat of the law

55-24-205. Presumptions

Term of protection – Notice to manufacturer.

(a) It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been undertaken to conform a motor vehicle to the applicable express warranties, if:
(1) The same nonconformity has been subject to repair three (3) or more times by the manufacturer or its agents or authorized dealers, but such nonconformity continues to exist;
or
(2) The vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of thirty (30) or more calendar days during the term of protection.

(b) The term of protection and such thirty-day period shall be extended by any period of time during which repair services are not available to the consumer because of a war, invasion, strike or fire, flood or other natural disaster.

(c) It shall be the responsibility of the consumer, or the representative of the consumer, prior to proceeding under the provisions of 55-24-203, to give written notification by certified mail directly to the manufacturer of the need for the correction or repair of the nonconformity. If the address of the manufacturer is not readily available to the consumer in the owner’s manual or manufacturer’s warranty received by the consumer at the time of purchase of the motor vehicle, such written notification shall be mailed to an authorized dealer. The authorized dealer shall upon receipt forward such notification to the manufacturer. If, at the time such notice is given, either of the conditions set forth in subsection (a) already exists, the manufacturer shall be given an additional opportunity after receipt of the notification, not to exceed ten (10) days, to correct or repair the nonconformity.

I didn’t read through this entire thread but let me add that you need to check the wire harness through its entire length. Mine was at the dealer for just under a month on 3 separate occasions and on the last time they found the short that I had told them to look for the first time I brought it in. Also, make sure you contact jeep cares when your issue pops up. The customer service I received(not to mention the check I’ve been promised) made all of my headaches a little easier to swallow

Trust me when I say that I can almost recite Wisconsin lemon law from memory. I’m past Jeep Cares and dealing with a “Customer Retention Specialist” now. So much talk and so many broken timelines; they know I’m livid and fully intend to receive a new Jeep from this. Wire harnesses checked, fuses pushed in, you name it, all of it did nothing to fix my truck and I’ve still not heard if they’re confident the new shift module will do the trick.

Over the course of two break downs, this is now 39 days total my Jeep has been down, which marks a full 15% of the time I’ve had it. Even if it’s “fixed” I’m not sure I’ll ever really trust it and won’t be satisfied until I get a replacement.

I was hoping it was just from all the rain we have gotten and maybe it was having a hiccup. Today after driving an hour to work and coming out to go to my next stop I go to start my Jeep and the heat goes full blast, radio goes full loud. Radiator fans are blasting and the dash is lighting up like crazy. I turn it off and start it back up check engine light on. I scan it and there’s probably a code for everything on . Reset system runs fine for 5 hours. On my way home I stop at the gas satation come out get back in and a mile down road lights flashing and everything goes out. Power steering, transmission. Pull over and same thing codes for everything on. Here are a few screen shots. Does anyone know what’s going on? I’m almost afraid to drive now

Same issues here!! Nothing but problems since we drove off the lot! First the electrical kept going out the battery was failing the clock kept resetting everything and it was the seatbelt system kept giving some weird triggering code then the rear defroster stopped working completely and now it is the tail lights not working Jeep doesn’t have any appointments for six months to look at it and conveniently enough that’s past my 36,000 or three year mark go figure.. any advice? Any good attorneys? This is our first Jeep and was so excited! Now I just have buyers remorse and a huge car payment to go with my non stop problems!!!!! SO UNACCEPTABLE WHEN U FACTOR IN THE RIDICULOUS PRICE TAG! My husband’s challenger nothing but problems too! Never had any issues with my GMC or my FORD I’m really pissed
