I'll be honest, I would prefer to keep the JT's stock performance for a while as it will be plenty capable off the lot. I currently have no plans on lifting it or getting larger tire, though I'm sure once AEV starts putting things on the market I'll change my mind...

My current build in mind consists of an AEV front bumper, Warn Zeon 12s, and some IPF dual beam auxiliary lighting.

Bought new wheels and will put 35s on them. Plan on leaving the dealer with stock wheels / tires and driving that way for the first 500 miles or so, then swapping the wheel/tire combo for the rest of the summer. Will go back to stock during the winter.

Did the tires require that wheel spacers be used? I like the look of the stock rims so I will keep them and I'd also prefer that I do not have to run spacers to keep from rubbing. I like to keep the tires under my rig so that rocks thrown up from the front tires don't destroy everything painted behind them. My JK looked so beat up after just a few thousand miles that I decided to put Sahara cab steps on my Sport. It stayed much cleaner and the rock chips on the door hinges and rear fenders stopped. Since I have an LE ordered I am thinking that the Mopar extended rock sliders will work for rock chips and give my petit wife something to step on to get in. I must admit that watching a 5'2" lady wearing a skirt trying to climb into a Jeep with 35s and a 2.5 inch lift can be quite entertaining, at least until I got caught watching her. We only drove the JK to church once until I had the steps put on it, something about hiking her skirt up to her waist in a church parking lot didn't sit well with her...I'll never understand women.

Ignore my stupid questions. Owed thre jeeps and always did work my self. However I want this one done right from beginning (still doing work myself though) :). From what I’m hearing/reading, 35s will fit without lift so if I buy the 35s now and leave the dealership with them:

1) Does it void any warranty? No right. It’s just tires?
2) will I get death wobble. I hear it usually is result of left and bigger tires. I had this in my 2015 JK I PUT 4” pro comp lift with 35x12.50. It was rough. Scared me to death. Was going to have to upgrade a lot. Prob 2k
Point is I would like to us this vehicle for vacations and more family outings (including camping) but know the wife won’t want to if ride isn’t decent. I know it would be decent with stock

Comments/suggestions.

After reading your post, my first thoughts are regarding your "death wobble" on your JK. I would say the poor quality Pro Comp lift is to blame. When you go 4" on a JK, the geometry of your steering and suspension changes drastically opening up the potential for a slew of problems including the dreaded "death wobble." Bigger tires alone do not lead to death wobble.

So swapping out stock tires from a JT to 35s potentially would lead to a stiffer or harsher ride but would not cause "death wobble." If you do swap out to bigger tires, consider the load range of such. A "C" load should give you a better ride than a "D" load and so on. Having just test driven a JT Rubicon, I personally would NOT change a thing about it. I really liked the way it handled and drove in the stock configuration. I can see myself making a JT Rubicon my daily driver. My wife who does not enjoy driving my JLU really liked the way the stock JT Rubicon handled. Now maybe I feel this way because I have a JLU that's lifted and rolls on 35s but to me, considering I'd drive this daily and could potentially travel in the JT, I was so pleased with the way it drove that I'd leave well enough alone. Now if I was buying the JT to wheel in it, I'm sure that would be a different story. And if you are concerned about your wife liking the drive of the JT and if you are planning family outings in the JT, you may want to consider keeping it stock. IMO, a stock JT Rubicon still looks masculine and has swagger.

Thanks for that. I appreciate the insight. I’ll be sticking with stock 33” (32.7). Enjoy your JT

I don’t think this has a lift and it looks sweet!
Can't wait to tear up this road construction site in front of my office. Is that illegal?
