Just purchased a 2022 JTRD and it had a tazer(removed by dealer), an SPOD(light stays on all the time, now unplugged), and this button by the ODB2 port(see picture).

What the heck is this button? The wires are snipped on the back.

It’s to disable Rockslide Engineering step sliders when you’re on a trail. Clearly they removed the steps but were too lazy to remove the switch.

Are you sure...? I have the same button and the dealer told me it was for the passenger ejection seat.

The ejection seat is the bar under the seat. You just pull up about 2 inches and get ready for a ride.

Totally makes sense. Yes, it had sliders that were all bent up and not working. The dealer removed those also. Thanks @WILDHOBO

if the passenger does that and the driver stabs the brakes at the same time, they're going to be focal points of a true crime podcast.

Did you get that thing smogged yet (the jeep, not the switch)?

Nope. Still waiting for o2 sensor to complete it's cycle. I took it to the local Jeep dealer and he let me use his odb2 scan tool and clearly hasn't completed some cycles. The DMV gave me a hall pass for 60 days to get er done.
