I don’t have adaptive cruise so I ordered the housing, cover and bracket that hold the ACC sensor. Mounted the cam inside and it’s mostly invisible

@JLMOPARMAN Do you happen to have a part number for the housing, cover, and bracket? Love how clean that looks in combination with a dash cam.

I'm thinking of getting a dual channel Thinkware FA200 dual channel for my yet to be delivered Sting Gray JT Overland.

Blackboxmycar.com has a Father's Day sale going on, so I may pull the trigger.
They do regular reviews. For example - Best Dash Cams of 2020 | Part 2: Budget Alternatives:

They have a good reputation from what I gather. I bought their budget choice 3 years ago, the Viofo A119, for my 2007 BMW 335xi. It's been solid, other than it won't take 128GB microSD cards, but otherwise does the job. It also doesn't let you Wifi connect to the dash cam, so I have to put the microSD into my Mac / PC, but I knew that going in. It was my first dash cam, so I didn't want to overbuy. Trying to fiddle with settings on a dinky LCD is annoying. Next time I'll buy something that has a smartphone app to change settings and download video.

For me, the things I wanted were:
1080p, Wifi connectivity, dual channel (front and rear), a smartphone app to download and view parking mode, maybe GPS
Things I didn't want were:
4K, Cloud connectivity, IR capability to record the vehicle interior (e.g., Uber or Lyft drivers)

I've had 2 occassions where the video was useful. I was in one accident and a near-accident. I've also had both my side mirrors smashed while my vehicle was parked - but my Viofo A119 dash cam doesn't have parking mode.

Look at black vue cameras. They don't have screens so they are much smaller than most of them out there. Not sure that I would mount a dash cam given the fold down windshield though. If you have the big ACC box behind the mirror you might not be able to fit anything there anyway.

I imagine wiring a camera in the grille would be easier than finding one rated for external use like that.
And the Blackvue get high ratings on CNET and have tons of models,

I have an Owl Cam.....it's garbage. You are given 60 credits per month to view history or saved videos. 1 minute of video uses 1 credit. You never have any signal to access videos on your app and when you try to watch a video, it "lost connection" but you're still charged a credit to try and view the vid. Pure trash.
I have an OwlCam as well. Totally agree with your assessment! The company also left us hanging from nov ‘19 until June ‘20 with no customer service, no tech support, and no LTE connectivity while they were being taken over by another company who now charges 4 times the annual subscription amount for the same service. Field of view sucks too. Avoid OwlCam!

Does it block much driver view? I will have to keep an eye out on the dealer lots for that? Really appreciate the intro to this part.
