I usually use Penzoil Platinum but the best version is getting up their. I have used other products by Liqui Moly before and wondered about their new 5w30 . its green. but thats ok .

anyone tried it? and before anyone says "any good 5w30 will work or you are supposed to run 0w20" . I have to say some oils are able to quiet down engine noises more than others. dry starts and engine noise can be improved with better oils . not all of them are the same. ive used the moly lube additive. I thought I might try the oil instead.

Liqui Moly has some great products. I use it in my diesel (Molygen New Generation 5W40), and in my transmission. (Top Tec ATF 1800)
Photo is after a week of driving...

Love the Stude! My first vehicle, at 15, was a ‘49 2r5 Champ truck. Learned to drive, and got my first license in it. I kept it until I was about 55, then sold it for parts. It was pretty much had it at that point. I’ve had several others during that time, but never got any of them restored as nice as yours looks. I still have a lot of Studebaker parts/items around, though I haven’t owned one in over 10 years.

Great Studebaker. Never go a shot at one. Instead, my first car was a Rambler.

That’s a beautiful? Grand Turismo? That was an awesome American car in its day! Between that UHAUL trailer and car that must be over 5,000 lbs easily! How does it pull?

Liqui Moly makes a bunch of different spec oils within the same weight grade. Just because they are a German company, do not fall in the trap you getting something extra special that could not be covered by more traditional brands like Pennzoil or Mobil 1.

Mobile 1 is not the same formula it was few years ago. I forget the exact details but the base oil is not the same. the base stock it starts with has changed. several oils are not true "synthetic" .

Penzoil Platinum is made with actual synthetic oil base

Location of where its made at has zero to do with my choices . The fact that you said that to imply that was my reason to buy it is quite annoying

Liqui Moly offers 11 different 5W-30 oils for the North American market with the majority of them Group III hydrocracked base oils even though they call them "Fully Synthetic", the same as Mobil 1 for most of their oils. Their labeling for product sold in the German domestic market will differ due to German law that only Group IV PAO based oils can be called fully synthetic.

So when people are asking about Liqui Moly? You have to ask which one of their products are you wanting to use as many of their oils are niche spec. Outside of European car brands with their many different and varied oil specs that Liqui Moly caters to, most of their oils bring nothing extra for the premium.

Not implying they are bad oils by no means, just that there is a certain "panache" many like to assign to the brand.

Not putting anyone down for their reasons of choosing this over that. But, it brings to mind my wanting a leather vest for motorcycle riding, about 30 years ago. (Upgrading from a denim cutoff). I found a high quality one at a small shop for about $50. My girlfriend at the time wanted me to wait, so she could get me one for my upcoming birthday . Birthday came, and sure enough, she presented me with a leather vest. Decent quality, but not quite as good. She left the tag on it, in case she bought the wrong size, and needed to exchange it. $178!!! She bought it a trendy boutique down town. I asked why she spent so much? Her answer: “It cost a lot more, so it must be better”.

I have used the brand and other German brands like Ravenol also with satisfactory results. You just seem to want to get miffed when the discussion is not a cheerleading section for it and finds a different value in it.

Their oils are fine if you know what your are buying and nothing wrong with anybody that wants to run it.

I am not an outlier that considers it a average oil at best.

I will say this; when I worked for BMW, there were shit tons of Valvoline drums in assembly. They put that in everything that got any sort of lube.

wrong.
its just the opposite. the jeep is a new vehicle to me and the motor I have not used. the Liqui moly luricants have a good rep but I have never run the oil.

asked if anyone used it in case they did and had bad results or know of any negatives for using it. not looking for cheerleaders for the brand. I dont work for them or sell it. thats just stupid.

people discussing their opinions on every other oil and adding nothing about the particular oil is not answering the question. unless you have used it there is no reason to answer. im not looking for recomendations on oil. or a class on oil. I was looking for anyone with real world usage of the oil in their Jeep.

if I wanted to know more about the engineering of the oil id be on btog or lakespeedjr. that may or may not let me know if this oil causing sludge or any other issue.

if i was miffed about anything it was your comment about me "choosing an oil because it was made in Germany" . which was also an asumption by you.
