Yes, this is kind of an axle question, kind of a wheel question. Looking to put an order in for 70” Currie axles this week and trying to get some ideas on what wheel offset I need to go with. I’m on stock Rubicon axles right now with a -38 17x9 wheel and like the poke. I could go a little further, but is it advised? The wheel I want to go with with the new axles is still the same -38 17x9 but with a 40” tire instead of my current 38”. Anyone have any images of their wheel offset on a 70” wide axle?

I had trouble finding photo examples of -25 offset on standard axles… find -38 on 70” widths is going to be a tall order, and a wide one at that ??

if you're already happy with -38, why not just strap -44s on your 70" axle with 2" wheel spacers and call it a day?

This is ridiculous, please don't do it. But then again I think -38 on factory axles is ridiculous as well.

I am on 72" Fusion 60's with 4.75" backspace wheels. The 40" Nittos are about half out of the split rubicon flares.

These were the recommend axle width and offset wheels from Fusion with 40" tires.

Are the -38mm 3.5" backspace? That little backspace does mess with your scrub radius, ball joint and wheel bearing wear.

Thank you for the help. Do you have any images of how this sits?

This is before I centered the rear axle but pretty close to how far tires stick out now.

17x8.5 0 offset KMC grenade beadlocks.
Nice. I'll have to give a look to see how those would compare to what I'd like to get. I'm thinking I may not be able to run the desired wheel and will have to get something else since the desired wheel is 3.5 backspace.

Should be about 1/4" more tire poke with 3.5" backspace and 70" axles. Most of the 3.5" backspace wheels are also 9" wide.

Exactly. I may just have to change my wheel preference and find something 4.5".
