Are the prices hitting rock bottom?

I have a 2021 Sport S and like it very much. But as I add some of mods I want to do the rubicon starts to look closer to what I want in the long run. Does this deal look good? Are trade-ins coming close to KBB is quoting?

The thing about "rock bottom" is that you don't know where it is until things have gone back up. It's a purely hindsight kind of thing.

That said, that looks like a pretty good deal. Would need to consider what the OTD price is though.

I think it might be the base Rubicon with cloth seats. I've seen in my areas around $47k...I'm negotiating a white rubicon right now listed at $49k (base diesel ruby but with leather seats and tow package) and trying my rep to settle at $47500. Lets see...lol.

I am in the same boat. I have a Gas Willy's and I have been holding off doing mods to it as I watch the prices. I am pretty close to pulling the trigger on trading mine in for a Diesel Rubicon before I start adding a bunch of stuff to mine since that is what I wanted in the long run but couldn't get when I was in the market for one because of the Recall. That deal looks pretty good and is close to what the prices are around here.

The 2023 prices are rock bottom. This also means uses gladiator pricing is reaching rock bottom too. When supply was tight and everyone was getting MSRP+ trades were high, now new price is low so trade price is low.

Around here you can get a fairly loaded Rubicon for about 20% off I usually look at KBB then go to it's low value and assume that's what I'm really getting for it as a best case.

Keep in mind the only discounts are the '23 models as this year was the hardest year for Jeep ....following Covid, they ramped up production and made too many Gladys and truth be told, at $60k optioned mid size truck, NOT everyone will bite as it's a niche truck for the niche market.

Mainstream truck customers will always flock to the typical Canyon/Colorado and of course, the king of mid size Tacoma (throw Ranger somewhere in there). This is where Jeep went wrong and next thing ya know, these $60k optioned gladiators occupy dealer lots and then throw in a higher APR and money factor (for lease), they become lot queens. The average mid size truck customer will NOT spend $60k on a solid axle mid size truck with average sound dampening, stiff steering, still somewhat tighter interior, missing tons of tech found in other trucks and most Jeep owners never utilize the vehicles full off road capability other than it being a mall crawler on 37s . For most people, even a Subaru outback will handle a lot of back roads and mild trails..lol.

And when ya can't move a $60k mid size niche truck, but still need to clear lots for new '24 models, what do ya do? Ya slash the prices to lure that non Jeep customer (like me) in.

But Jeep is preventing this happening to the '24 so only time will tell whether the '24's will still fly off the dealer lots or become stagnent in Dec '24 and the same fate happens again cos they need to bring in '25 model but lot is occupied with '24 models.

And one of the reasons why I might lease a 23 diesel instead. No telling how bad the depreciation will run in next 2-3 years and Gladiator might be the next Ram 1500.

I don't think they're gonna make a ton of 24s honestly. I'd imagine they're going to overcorrect for the 23s and really tighten 24 supply, plus if the union docs are right and '25 is the new 4xe version they may make this a really short model year like the 23 was for the wrangler which only lasted like 4 months

We purchased a 23 Far Out edition that stickers at almost 78k and we paid 60k and traded in a 10 year old bmw they gave us right in the middle of kbb trade number.

I am only offering this as a data point. Whether it is close to actual reality, I can not say.

Since around December 2023 until now, I have been renewing my online Carmax offer every week and also checking the same with KBB for my 2022 Gladiator Rubicon that stands now at 32K miles.

With both Carmax and KBB, it bottomed out around mid January at around $32K and stayed pretty much that until about 3 weeks ago. It has slowly gone back up each week now and am getting quotes of $35K-$36K of trade in value. This is even with adjust for mileage each week.

I am more confident in the Carmax quote as they pretty much gave me the full online quotes when I sold my 2020 and 2021 to them.

60k is to high for this truck to begin with so that is where the price should be from the start.

I skimmed over 2023's with 15% off MSRP and im seeing Willy's MSRP'd at $58k... As if $49k is somehow how a good price. Maybe it's just my area (NY) but I'd hardly call 2023's rock bottom.

I've got 63k rubicons for 49 here and Florida is a high volume jeep area. That may be rock bottom in your area just because of where you are located.
