I'm curious if this is for looks or if it has a purpose. I understand why a guy would install one, but this one is so small in size I don't understand what it would protect against.

Well, that's just like, your opinion, man.

Mostly looks for now and something to grab onto if I ever find the fancy to do so. Also plan to put on a wench so seemed like a good idea.
