ReadyT, you mentioned you, ”disconnected the thinner ground wire.”
This is going to sound a bit off, but I had a 2020 Jeep like you.
The thinner ground wire on that year was the MAIN ground wire on my Jeep. The thicker ground wire was the aux battery ground wire on my 2020 Jeep. Later years Jeep switch the large cable to the main battery post (like it should be), and the smaller cable to the aux battery.
A Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) is also mounted under the battery cable between the ground cable and battery post. That can go bad sometimes.
I am just throwing some ideas out on the table.
Good luck
Thanks, Truck starts in this configuration. If it was the wrong ground, whe I detached it and took it out of the system, Im assuming the truck wouldn't start.

When I was in MOAB two years ago and my Aux failed and was under Jeep warranty, I couldn't get it replaced because there was no Jeep Dealer within 100 miles, had to buy one. For the future I want something I can warranty anywhere and there are Auto Zones everywhere.
No Auto Zones in Moab. Just sayin.
Nearest one is Grand Junction. Same palce as the Jeep dealer.

This still blows my mind. Why wouldn’t some entrepreneur grab the bull by the horns and open a Jeep dealership in Moab? It’s not like they wouldn’t make enough sales in the parts department to keep the place running.

NGL I didn't read all the replies.

There are 3 battery manufacturer, globally, that supply automotive batteries for the US market. Generally the same battery you get from Interstate, is ALSO the SAME BATTERY as Walmart's Everlast (Platinum), Autozone's Duralast Gold, and AC Delco. They're made by Panasonic IIRC, which I had the factory original Panasonic in my 2008 Scion up until 2015, no issues in sub-zero temps, 120+ temps, ran my RF 12" subwoofer for 5 years at full tilt with other electrical mods also pulling power. Used it to jump cars and even a 3/4 ton pickup a couple times.

Grab the cheapest brand of those listed above (with the correct model, e.g. Everlast PLATINUM, Duralast GOLD, etc) as they're all made on the same line.

There's regulations on how much distance is required between dealerships, and that distance can increase when there's a low population density vs miles between cities. That and/or not worth the risk having multiple competing dealers that close by with so few potential customers. It's all internal regulations, but there's also non-compete clauses in some areas regardless.
- Politics ruin everything.

Interesting. You’d think they’d make an exception for somewhere like that. I’ve seen some of the other dealers in the area carry Jeep parts. Jeep still gets the profits but wow! Buying Jeep parts at a Ford dealer? Even if they dont open a dealership they could open a parts and service center there. Talk about missed opportunities.

That’s crazy, with all of the Off road activities that are there. You would think they could at least open a certified service and parts center for warranty claims. Seems like a lost oppotunity

I seem to vaguely remember hearing about a dealer that tried this, issue ended up being exactly what I said: profits vs cost. Yes many come out for MOAB, but nor daily, not enough customers outside the busy season. Investors wouldn't invest. Plenty of interest, just not profitable for "modern society".

I could not understand why I needed an Aux battery so I pulled it out. Then I pulled the fuse. But now I was getting a bad battery 'warning' on the dash so I finally took the hot side of the battery off, and the gizmo that runs all the 'stuff.' Then hooked it all back up but without the aux battery. No more issues showing up. My voltage meter always shows 11.4 volts but starts perfectly everytime. All cables are connected BUT the hot and neg are taped off where the aux was. Tazer and I are happy...2020 Overland...

I would guess from your description that the main battery is going south. You can have it load tested, but if it’s more than three years old get a new one, leave the aux battery disconnected and the fuse removed. Should cure all ills.

Well, I've been told that the main battery is going south (not the original, Jeep has over 120k on it) but it starts fine, even after sitting for days at a time. But some day I'll replace it anyway!
