Anybody know if the wiring for the switches is in place on models without the switch group?

I'm pretty sure it is not.

If you have a Gladiator without the switch group, you can verify the wiring by removing the paneling on the passenger side and look under there. It is pretty easily accessible.

My guess would be there is no wiring - it just feels like a lot of work on their part.

There is no panel needing removal... the cabin aux switch wiring ends are peeking out just above the carpet edge of the passenger foot well.
Stop by a dealer and take a look at a known non switch equipped model to verify.

It was not on the JL. Others in the JL forum said it was a monster job to add the aux switch panel and wiring.

It’s not on JT either, just confirmed. My thought process was maybe it was part of the wiring harness and could be a cost saver to just have 1 harness across all trims.
Polaris did that with Victory Motorcycles.

Ok Here's a question? Installed the mopar AUX switches and had the dealer flash them this morning, got home and went into settings on my radio to see the different settings for the switches as i read somewhere they were controlable in settings only to find out they are not in settings? so my question is do you have to hook up say for instance cubes and then go to settings to program them or why don't the switches show up in settings?

If the dealer flashed for the Aux switches the menu would be there regardless if you have something wired up to them.

No, they are not wired if you didn't get the group and you will have to run the harness to add it. I strongly suggest getting the package at time of purchase because you get one each ignition hot and battery hot leads inside that way as well. I also think all the electrical is integrated as opposed to fuses and relays on the cowl but don't quote me on that.

If you do not opt for the package, the switches will be nonop and you won't have the settings in the head unit until they are flashed by the dealer or with a third party tool like the Tazer JL. @GoVR46 is right though, once flashed, they appear regardless of the presence of the actual switches or wiring.

Pro tip, if you find the otherwise perfect Jeep and want to do the switches afterwards, have the sales department include that they will have the vehicle flashed to accommodate the switches prior to delivery and make sure it's in writing on the bill of sale. Otherwise you're at their mercy on pricing and I was quoted everything from .5 to 2.0 on labor.

Sometimes it takes a little while for head unit to update. It is also really easy to blow fuses during the AUX switch installation process. If any of the fuses are blown in the AUX switch harness, the programming change doesn't take and will have to be done again after the fuses are replaced. Many choose the Jscan option and do the update that way. The cost of one dealer visit will usually pay for the necessary hardware and Jscan license.

If you don’t have the switches from the factory look into the VOSwitch much easier install, same location and 6 switches instead of 4, from everything I have read on here adding the oem switches is pretty complicated and requires a dealer visit to program them or a device like a Taser.
