Jeep Gladiator Badland Off-road Jack 97350579-AE81-42E5-A265-3A23B6B4CEA0

Picked this bad boy up today, I’ll take some unboxing pics tomorrow and show you all, after work once I have some time. I think I’m one of the first people to get their hands on this!

I’ve been researching an off road jack system for months now, and been meaning to get one ahead of my December pilgrimage to Moab. I don’t like high-lifts because the use case for them is so narrow. I liked the Pro eagle, but oof, $600 for a jack?? Almost bought a SafeJack, because I love how compact their kits are….but I’m not a pack-everything-week-long-overlander who needs a lot of space. And, the short stroke of the bottle jacks makes them not as practical for a home garage jack. Just googling around about a month ago I saw Harbor Freight preview this at a trade show, to hit shelves in December.

Sure enough, checking Harbor Freight’s website today and it said a store in my area had one in stock. I drove to that store today, they said it was still in the back and hadn’t been de-processed for shipping. When the manager realized what he had, he was like “oh I can’t sell you this, I need to make this my floor model and this is the only one.”

…..ok. Drove across town to another store and manages to snag it. I have a feeling these are going to be hot commodities in the off road world soon so I’m glad I was able to snag one!

Am I looking at something incorrectly? The HF Badlands jack is twice the price of the comparable Pro Eagle here.

Edit: to delete bad link so nobody gets scammed!

Direct from Pro Eagle for a little more. Maybe on sale?

I looked that up and followed the link, the $246 item is just the mount to mount the $600 jack to a bumper/bed rack. Seems like a Google algorithm error or something, that’s not the actual jack. So definitely glad harbor freight came through with a cheaper option haha

Good call, I'm shopping for a new jack so I just happened to have seen these links earlier before you posted about your HF. I was suspect to the massive price difference but with Google Shopping it'll actually let you check out without even visiting the site to view any listing errors, etc. Saved me a headache in a week.

Anyone ever try to use a floor jack on a trail? Bring a wrench so that you can take off the wheels and some pieces of wood to make it level. Don't overlook safety while in use.
The good and bad part of a high-lift or 'handy-man' jack is the small footprint. You can find somewhere to place the base. No, I don't like them and never trust them but there is a reason that the design has not changed.
(Used them many times here on the farm. Even still use one with a wooden handle.)
That jack is novel, and for a floor jack, I love it; but it does have it's limitations.

I bought one Tuesday. Same as you I drove to a store in a neighbering town. I had to aske for it and they had it in the back. Off road for me is in my garage where the concrete is so spahled from salt drippings. Also I can roll it over to lawn to the barn and use it on the tractor.

How did you end up mounting your Badland jack? Where and at what angle?

NoDoorsNoProblem, did you mount your Badlands jack in your JT yet and if so how? I mounted mine on it's side to my molle panel. Limited on space and looking for options here.

I dont think I would trust that narrow jack with large wheels, not enough purchase to a solid base...maybe if you put some dunnage under it to get it leveled out and more planted to the ground....

I plan on getting a badlands jack Mainly for the house. I use my high lift off-road. I have used floor jacks with the sand skids before and they kinda suck. You need the wheels so the jack can move during the lifting phase.
A exhaust jack (lift bag) would be better in my opinion for a dedicated off-road jack.

Dirtliftstyle on YouTube did an excellent review.

One take away is that the HF jack actually has an ASME cert on lifting standards. The pro eagle doesn't.
