Can someone please tell me if you have to remove/cut anything off to install the unit? I've heard that part of the plastic intake need to be cut off. This would void my warranty I'm sure. I was going to just remove the Baxter oil filter adapter and put the OEM filter back on if I needed to take it to the dealership for anything. Please help me out with this.
Thanks

The nub that needs to be taken off if done right is not going to void the warranty. The link @Gvsukids posted is a good starting point. It is a polarizing mod and the "Oh Noes" crowd will be along to reinforce the bad idea they think it is.

I looked at his post and didn't see anything about this? Maybe I wasn't looking the right way?
Thanks

Watch the install video, link is above. The tab that gets cut off isn't used anyway according to the video.

I bought one but sent it back when I realized I had to cut/trim intake. I could have taken the adapter off before any type warranty work. But didn't think I would have a good reason for cutting the intake.

You would have to been pretty ham fisted to cut into the intake far enough it would have caused damage. It is pretty thick there at the seam.

So I didn't my first oil change at 1000 miles I got 2 free oil changes from the dealership. So I took it in at 5000 miles to get my schedule to be every 5000 miles. While I was there I talked to the service manager about the Baxter adapter. After looking at it on the Internet I am off it would void the warranty. He said he thought it was a good idea and he was going to get one for his Wrangler. A few other tech's also said it looked like a good upgrade.
