So I’ve been looking at wheels a good bit lately. Weighing options between a few and would like to hear some solid feedback on a few of them. Below are the ones on my Final Cut List. If you have, or have had, any of them or have opinions on them fire away.

Total Metal Fabrication weld on beadlock (any steel wheel form follows function)

Hutchinson Beadlock Wheel

I too, have the Icon recon pro. I saw them on a YouTube channel and started my research. I think the channel was dirt lifestyle. If memory serves, he lowered his air pressure to zero psi, in the snow and did not blow a bead. I don’t go below 8 psi. There’s no need for that, in my opinion. Love the replaceable, rock rash guards. Highly recommended. Got them from “Trail Built Off Road”. Delivered to my house, with beadlock pins torqued, with thread locker. Also got the ceramic coating. Got a fantastic price. If you didn’t buy yet, consider them!

And they are DOT compliant. At least in Pennsylvania, they are.
Sold the factory 33’s and got the 35” Falken wildpeak, AT4’s, package deal

My buddy runs Hutchinson’s. He loves them but I think he said they’re a little hard to balance. Could be the 40’s too. I ended up going with Method beadgrip 703.
So far so good

I’ve narrowed it down to either the Hutchinson or the Method 709HD.

Like the function of the Hutchinson but not crazy on the form. I like the form of the 709 and the fact that it can have a bead protector and it grips the bead internally is a plus. Either one will be getting bedlined when I get to the point of doing the rest of the truck.

Appreciate the input from everyone. Hope the thread helps others who are researching this subject.

We have Method 106 Beadlocks on our JKU. In hindsight I probably would have been better off with a non-beadlock wheel, it makes getting it serviced by big name tire chains easier. If we are traveling and have a tire issue your average chain store tire shop won't want to work on it because it is a beadlock. That said, we have had zero issues with the Method beadlocks, they have taken a lot of abuse, and other than the anodizing on the beadlock ring fading they are doing great. At some point I will probably just spray paint the rings black.

Just had Icon Recon Pro's installed today. Same as the rebound pro but with replaceable rash guards. Will see how they hold up.
I had Discount Tire install. They gave me a hard time at first then agreed to install them $110 for all 4. I had already prepped the retention pins with anti-Seize, TPMS, Long Apex deflators and silicone on the o-rings. They tried to get out of it saying they didn't have a tork wrench for 20ftlbs. I said, here, use mine and I provided the bit as well. 7/16 12point long socket is required. They tried to say they don't do beadlocks and showed me their litature. It specifically stated Icon Interlocks are not beadlocks. After making a couple of calls, they installed them and did a great job.
I got the Rebound Pro's from Synergy at a fantastic price. I bought my 37's from America's Tire (Discount Tire) and mine were the first set of InnerLock's they had seen. They were so excited to see them and get to install them that the manager himself came out to work on the installation with the technicians.

Like you, I had already prepped the pins with the O-rings and anti-sieze and supplied the 12-point. They charged their standard mount & balance rate.

They've been on my Jeep for 3.5 years now. Lots of rock rash, but that happens to every wheel I run. The pins and O-rings have held up just fine, never one problem whatsoever, no leakage. These function every bit as well as true beadlocks and are not a gimmick like the Method Bead Grip mostly is. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Icons.

Can you clarify this statement please? Not saying it is or isn’t true just trying to find the reasoning behind it.

The Bead Grip makes it a little harder for the tire to debead. The Inner Lock makes it nearly impossible, with standardized testing methodology to verify that.

Of course, the inner bead could still be forced off the rim, but this is far less common a problem, and is shared by all wheels that aren't double-beadlocks.
