I was originally going to go with BFG's but the tire guy talked me into Toyo's AT at 35x11.5/r17. Like others who posted about them, I like them a lot so far, especially being a little narrower than most. They say they last 60k+ miles but only time will tell.

?? Just curious what this comment is based on? Sure seems to be a lot of folks recommending Nittos, and a lot of hardcore offroaders consider them to be the best. I'm a BFG guy all the way for Jeeps (have been since the 90s) but I currently love General/Continental for passenger car tires.
Because there are countless people who've found them to be horrible in foul weather, hard to balance, and have poor wear. They also are the only brand I've seen that had mostly mixed ratings on their own website with a 3-star review on their A/T offering and 2 to 3 stars on others, which they took down citing the desire to "revamp" the website last year. Uh huh...sure.

They are just not good tires. Over rated and over priced.

My brother took the bait hook, line, and sinker and bought a $1,500 set of Ridge Crapplers for his F-150. He complains every time it rains.

Here are some pics I found. I personally like how flush they sit to the sides.

Kinda like picking underwear...everyone likes something different for different reasons. Some guys have had one set of tires and will tell you why they are the best, and others have had many sets and can tell you what they like and why. A lot of opinions are based on smaller tires like 285's, and there is probably less difference between brands in that segment than there is when you get to 35 and larger. Balance and noise becomes a bigger issue. No idea how my Kanati 35's are going to last, but they work for us. BFG KO2 has always been good to me as have Cooper (Mastercraft).

Very nice!!! You may have sold me on these. I was debating on 35x10.5x17, 35x12.5x17, 315/70-17 and 255/85-17. But I really like exactly how my current 285/70-17 sit width-wise with stock wheels. Tiny bit of poke and just the right amount of wheel tuck inside the tire. Just wanted a bit taller. This size is closest in width to 285/70-17

I had Toyo 285/75/17 AT III until just recently and the sticker from Toyo that came on them listed 34x11.5x17 next to 285/75/17 so safe to assume the 35x11.5x17 would be the same width just a little taller. I was going to switch to this size but I could not find them anywhere in stock.

THANKS! I never dug deep on the Nittos as I had planned to stick with BFGs for the Jeep....with the remote possibility of going to General Grabber ATX since I trust continental/general from th emany sets we have had on our cars. The more I think about all of the recommendations I have seen for the Nittos it was from people with hardcore trail rigs that were more concerned with offroad performance and durability (especially hardcore rock crawling) as opposed to major on-road driving in more of a "daily driver" rig where all of the items you mentioned are a much larger concern.

The Goodyear Territory MT in 315/70-17 are pretty light for a 35. They come in at 52lbs. Same tires they are putting on the Bronco with the Sasquatch package.

Kenda Klever AT2s in a LT315/70-17 weigh 63lbs. I have AT2s in a different size and they are not loud at all.
Territory...lol, is this the one they had to rename because Ford refused to put a Goodyear Wrangler on the Bronco?
