I was really impressed by the Falken Wildpeak AT takeoffs that I ran for a while. But, when it came time for me to jump to 35s, I got a killer deal on a set of BFG KO2s. I also ran them in 34" on my JKU in the past, and they never let me down. I am sure there are other options that perform better in certain situations, but the KO2s have been a great all rounder that seem to wear remarkably well.

Traded it. Valves rattling like mad, coolant in the oil, front driveshaft vibrating, it was done. Good thing they didn't drive it!
Damn shame. Mine has 162k on it. Typical hemi noise (manifold, lifters who knows) but it doesnt burn any oil, coolant stays where it should. Its on a replacement front ds, second set of diff bushings. Certainly a labor of love but they dont make anything else like it.. Style wise and drivetrain wise with the elsd...

Was a sad day for sure - and it limited my ability to haggle because I needed a working vehicle before it died, but very happy we found our JT just in time. I just couldn't put another $3-5K into the XK just to have something else break the following year. If that Quadratrac AWD system goes bad, it's almost a total loss (probably the only thing I didn't break). Dealer can get $10-$12K all day at any auction for those things if clean-looking, so winners all around!

It will be the 3rd vehicle once the JT comes in. Might become the trail rig... not sure yet. I have had good luck with the QD2 but its currently in shop for rear pinion bearing... It wears coopers btw for the point of this thread lol.

Already have a '99 MBZ convertible soaking up all the extra "3rd car" budget. But yeah, back to tires! ?

Had good luck with Coopers and Generals - and believe it or not Hankooks. Just done with Nitto for sure!

I’m going with Toyo OC A/T III on the stock Mojave rims: 35/12.5R17. These are the same weight as the OEM WildPeaks. Anyone have experience with those?

The other tire I was looking at is the BFG KO2, which is also light, and C rated. Those KO2 do seem to measure smaller than others, though. I’m told that the 37/12.5R17 measures 35.3 inches true diameter at 29 psi. I would have gone with that I think but couldn’t get a set arranged in time.

Your going to have to run those KO2s at around 33 or 34psi to get a good contact patch on your JT, it's heavier than other jeeps. At 29 their not gonna wear right. Also they measure 35.7 at 33 psi, that's what my buddies 37 12.5 17 KO2s measure on his.

I absolutely love my Radar Renegade R/T+ 35x12.5R17. They are reasonable priced, quiet, light-ish, and solid. Fairly new to me I took a chance on something different and I'm impressed with their durability and capability. On the plus side, they are dual walled for a little added flair.

I have the same Toyo’s but in 11.5 width instead of 12.5 on factory rims. Only been about 6 months/5000 miles, but so far I am really liking them. Haven’t had any issues in the mud and snow and regular street/highway driving.

I was actually going to go with BFG’s because that’s what everyone does and what I have experience with in the past, but the salesman talked me into the Toyo’s. So far I haven’t been disappointed.

Ahh I made a mistake. I just realized that this thread was for 35s specifically so my bad. My post was in regards to 33s.

Sorry for the mix up.
Always nice when someone humbles themselves and states they were wrong, thanks.

Toyo Open Country RT - 315/70R17 C load range. I usually go with BFG AT’s, but I wanted to try something different. I dig the tread pattern on these.

Cool. Thanks for the advice. That’s what I did. I haven’t even seen my new JTM with my own eyes, but the guy who installed the new 35 Toto’s snapped this for me. I can’t wait.

So for anyone running the Toyo at3. How did they do after the last winter? I saw they are 3peak rated. Good weight for a 35. Noisy? Wearing? Need some input. Sorry currently running the Falken take off. Which have been great in the snow.

I’m in the Southern part of the state and don’t see any snow.

My AT3s had chunks and cracking in between the tread which got the warranty credit from DT towards my Toyo RT Trails.

You can see it here.

The AT3s seemed to lose traction and squeal after a while around my neighborhood roundabouts which to me would equate to loss of traction in snow.

Just my $0.02.
