Hello Fam,

Looking For A Quality Smooth Daily Ride & A Robust Tire For Weekend Adventures. My Stock Falken AT3’s Have Been Awsome In The Snow This Year. However I Previously Had A Wrangler With K02’s and I Wanna Go Back To KO2’s For My Gladiator…

Looking At 10ply Or 12ply For Tires.
Is 12ply A Possibility For The Gladiators?

What Tires You All Run & How Many Miles With No Issues?

Thanks For The Replies!! God Bless!!

I run Falken AT3W in 255-80-17E and they ride great.
How do those ride with E load?I would think since they are thinner they may be more compliant.Id like to switch to that size on my JL.

I’ve had the new KO3’s since August and upsized to 315/70/17, (F rated, 12 ply). I come from running the E rated 10 ply (actually technically they are 9 ply) KO2’s (3 years on Tacoma and 3 years on the Gladiator) and these K03’s are worlds apart. Yes tougher but if you caulk test and find they should be 31 up front and 29 in the back, (from 35 where the shop wants to put them) the tires are much smoother over bumps and cracks than the KO2’s.

I’ve had to have them regular balanced twice at KAL TIRE and then had to have them road force balanced at the dealership and I’ve since done a 5 tire rotation and I feel the tires could be road force balanced again but the shimmy’s are so slight and can’t be seen but I do feel it in the steering wheel BUT, I’m at 111k kms on stock suspension except for the HD TeraFlex ball joints.

Winter driving with weight in the back and aired down to 29 up front and 27 at the back when it’s snowed or iced up and they have awesome grip on ice and snow.

Have the Nitto g3 in E range also currently, I’m sure it’s a placebo, but they ride smoother than the Falken ATW3s did. Stock size and weight about 5lbs less than the stock per tire.

35” F’s 12 ply MT(mud claws), about 20k on them now, the perfect JT tire, the 12 ply keeps them stood up good with low pressure, Awesome in snow and mud, run 39 in them on highway at 80.

Both the Load Range F KO3s and Load Range E KO2s have a 3-ply sidewall construction.

I’ve been running on these Dextro AT 10 ply’s for a few months now, maybe 2000 miles. Not as quiet as the Wildpeaks, but so far much quieter than my Firestone MT’s were, and they handle great. They are LT rated tires to match original. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

I would run the C rated BFG, they are noticeably smoother than the E tires rated are.
My opinion after running both.

I’ve run 35x12.5x18 Toyo MTs E Load Range and now 37x13.5x18 Toyo MTs D Load Range and the definitely noticeably softer ride with the D range. Tire Pressure is key also to the ride quality. Currently running 25psi after my chalk test.
