Bilstein 5100

What is the fitment issue with the Fox 2.5's? Too short? I'd suggest shock extensions with the right bump stops instead of downgrading your shocks. You can get anywhere from 1.5 inch to 3 inch extensions.

Too short. The rear is the biggest issue but maybe not if there’s a 3” extension. I didn’t know they made em that big. I guess I’d have to look at the dimensions closer to see if it’ll work. The rear Fox’s are for 0-1.5” lift and the front are for 2-3” lifts.

If I remember correctly, the Clayton 3.5 will lift my Sport a little over 4” so that’s kinda the predicament. From my understanding, I need to send these the shocks to Fox to be serviced every 50k miles too which is coming up. If that is the case, then I need some cheap temp shocks regardless.

I use the Currie 1.5 inch extensions on mine.

Digging up an old post here…I’m planning to grab some Clayton springs soon and also need cheap shocks. I think I’ll end up selling my current Fox 2.5s since they won’t quite fit the 3.5” lift. They were great shocks, but overkill for me right now.

Stuck between Bilstein 5100 and Rancho RS9000.

Edit: forgot my question lol. How do you like the 5100s? Too firm or just right? For reference, I tend to like a sportier/flat around corners ride.

It sounds like you’ll like 5100s. Friends that ride in my Jeep say it rides good for a Jeep.

What did you end up with? I've got Rancho adjustable shocks and haven't found the perfect setting when paired with the RS80125B springs.

I just put these on my stock height gladiator rubicon. At 30k my shocks were shot. I would definitely consider these an upgrade over the stock shocks that come with the rubicon. They are a little stiffer, not harsh, more planted on the road.
