For 35’s I ran Wrangler Duratrac and they were great for snow! Funny I don’t hear anyone suggesting that brand? What’s the Negative views for those since I don’t see any. IF your not rock crawling, then no big deal that it has two ply sidewall.

Maybe not enough traction... There are others who think like you do.

I have 37x20” Nitto Trail Grapplers M/T, the ride is surprisingly good. At 75 mph+ can be a bit loud but usually not too bad. I think that’s a Jeep thing. At low speeds slowing down you can feel them, more than hear them. I had the stock 33” Falken AT & not much difference in the ride in fact I think these Nitto’s are slightly better. I’m assuming they won’t perform well in snow since it’s a MT tire, guess I’ll find out this winter.

I have 35 equivalents in the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLTs. Love them. Probably the quietest AT out there.. plus they look great

I really like these wheels. I've been looking around because I want to go to 35's and am limited with the OEM Gladiator wheels I have.

I just bought a JTR LE that came with brand new 37x12.5x20 Falken ATs with Venomrex wheels. They are sweet! Don’t hear anything, good grip in the couple rain storms we had, and pretty aggressive looking (if u need that). Getting 19-20.5 mpg depending on how I drive. Probably will stick with these.

On my last JTR, I had the stock Falken MTs and didn’t like them. Switched to 37 Mastercraft MXTs because of the lightweight and they were horrible.

On my JKU, I had 33 Nitto Terra Grapps and 35 Trail Grapps. I liked both but the terras had no grip really. The trail Grapps were awesome in most everything except really slick surfaces. What I liked about both is the were quiet and got great mileage out of them. (Terras 45k / Trails 55k)

Everyone has a different opinion and that’s ok. There are a lot of good tires out there but I think there are too many expectations that are unrealistic, especially when going to 37s.

Well since you asked...

Nitto Ridge Grapplers (often referred to as Shitto Ridge Crapplers) are the most over rated tires on the market currently. They're just bad from start to finish. Poor traction, hard to balance, expensive, etc. There are LOTS of complaints about them in foul weather. I really don't understand how piss poor products like this end up becoming the #1 sellers. My brother even took the bait and bought a set for his F-150 and he complains about them every time it rains.

Nothing Toyo makes is going to help you, because Nitto is a Toyo brand. They use the same rubber.

Falken makes the best A/T tire right now, but I had excellent success with the Yokohama X-AT also.
Nitto has aggressive marketing and more importantly influencer presence. YT is full of channels that are sponsored either publicly, or privately by Nitto. That greatly influences the public's perception of their tires and brand.

For me, I have always gone with the tried and test BFG KO2s. They are by far my favorite tire.

You can fit 35's on stock wheels.

I really liked the Duratracs I had on my TJ - till they aged. The "good for a year" mantra held true and the things turned into hockey pucks with plenty of tread left. When I slid through a stop sign on a rainy day that was my sign for new tires. Since then I've been drawn to tires with a presumably "newer" rubber compound.

like a few others who have chimed in, i run falken m/t's. one of the quieter m/t's i've experienced. everyone who has ridden with me comments on the minimal road noise. not sure how well they will hold up with all the road miles i cover, but i've been happy with them on the trails.

There are 4 rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Lastly...NEVER buy used Jeeps. They're bad enough new. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

With as much highway driving I do.......im torn. Do I try a better driving 35 or just go back down to 33.....which I know will be way smoother on the freeway

I don't think the overall circumference of your tire is causing the issues you're having. If anything a taller tire with a taller sidewall should actually ride softer at the proper air pressure in comparison. What you need to consider is the load rating of the tire. A lot of tires that are an AT or MT are E rated or 10 ply. Most stock tires are highway tires and SL rated or around 4 ply. This makes a pretty bid difference in how much the sidewalls flex and take bumps and impacts. You might want to consider a different load range for a smoother ride. A C rated would probably be the best of both worlds if you can find one you like.
