No need to lower compression on modern engines... Your just giving away power. 11.3:1 is pretty standard and not high compression. Maybe compared to old technology and older motors it is but in todays technological age its not.

The weak points for sure are the wrist pins on these motors, as well as, the rod design for a boosted application. Hence, why I went and made custom Rods and Pistons for factory replacement. If anyone needs a set I have a set ready to ship today! Complete factory replacements all beefed up and rated for over 900whp application.

Excited to hear about the outcome! I saw MMX has an 80mm throttle body, any thoughts on including that with your engine build? MJM is who I was going to connect with in a few months when I am ready to build mine.

SeeN that not sure if it will work with the Magnuson Supercharger. I would have to ask, but good idea

I have the MMX 80mm throttle bottle on my Magnuson. It requires you to buy some additional mounting bolts as the Magnuson is all metal. I have it combined with a Banks CAI. I am running a small pulley tune from Dave. He did have to make a couple adjustments but it works great. I am not out speeding around everyday. I mainly added it for towing. If I were not on the road working I would include some pics. I also have an oil catch can and a one way valve from RIPP superchargers. Not sure what difference any of this makes but like I said mine runs really well.

Yes that is the kit I ordered. I chose the add a throttle body option as I did not have one. Luckily for me these guys are only about an hour away so I got it in two days. If I ever decide to do a V8 swap I will use them for install. I will be back home this weekend and will get some pictures.

Perfect ordered both throttle body and ripp one way valve. When you get home, it would be great if you could show me a picture where that Ripp one way valve goes. I do have a catch can installed. Drive safe I appreciate your info!!

Love the color. Nice Jeep. Thank you for the pictures. That makes it easier for me. I get the RIPP part and the 80mm on Tuesday delivered. I pickup my engine on Tuesday. The last thing Im waiting for is I'm rebuilding my Supercharger upgraded bearings from stock ones plus rebuiding the whole unit so its 100% ready to go for more power.(ETA on supercharger is 2 weeks which I drop off next Wednesday).

Thanks again for posting these pictures it helps.

Update:
Engine build is done.

Waiting on Supercharger (I did a complete rebuild so its 100% ready to perform) Cost $2800, I get Supercharger back this Thursday April 20th.

The engine and Supercharger gets placed back into Jeep on Monday 24th so I should have the Jeep ready by that week. The end is near.

So I am lurking through this thread and had a question about the 80mm TB. I see there is 2 options, 1 list a ported TB from 74mm to 80mm and it specifically says it fits the JL/JT platforms but the 2nd option is a TB from a V8 Hemi and all the adapters to make it work, it also does not list the JL/JT but for other 3.6s it does and it says some tuning may be required. If I am not currently running a SC, would the ported 74mm to 80mm be the better option between the two?

I ordered the 80mm TB for a V8 Hemi. It comes with the cable to adapt it to the 3.6. I was using the 80mm TB before I decided to add the Magnusson supercharger.

This is what I ordered, https://www.mmx4x4.com/p-29-2018-20...ntastar-v6-intake-manifold-kit-by-mmx4x4.aspx

I chose the option to add a 80 mm TB.

Just curious if you did any type of dyno testing prior to tearing down? Would be curious to see what kind of improvement is made going forged, and possibly adding more boost? Obviously, the goal is longevity!

I've been driving my maggy glad more since the weather is nicer, and I absolutely love it, but everytime I push it past 4k rpms I start to worry. Currently have 7k miles on set up with daves small pulley tune.
