This Mojave is my second Jeep with a winch, I am using it to pull trees out of my land and I spend most of my time surf fishing on the beach in Spring and Fall....

Hey Jack, how do you have the surf rack set up with the winch? Right now I have rod holders on my hitch rack but they are too low to run with rods in them, I only use them setting up tackle.

Surf rack will have to come off to use the winch, I have a Curt front receiver for rack to slide in , my longest Lami rod is 12’. Usually have rods on top of cap for ride to beach then run around at beach with them in rack, don’t hit stop lights or not too low to plow sand……Jack

Here is another option. Someone on the JL forum recently brought these to my attention. They actually look pretty decent and are relatively cheap cost wise. Wish the winch mount was recessed. Rears look nice as well.

A non-stubby will cause clearance issues with a disconnected sway bar and 37s or larger

Hard to beat the fab Fours stubby . With or without hoop. It's strong , very well made and coated . It's a flat top so it looks good with or without a winch ( no giant hole ) . It's pretty light for what it is too. The price and availability is also pretty attractive. I have purchased and installed one on our JL and one on our JT .

Also, I agree with this. It wasn't my first choice but I bought my bumper in 1/2021 when supply chains were still really bad so this is what I ended up with. The only problem I have with it is the winch is not recessed

I've been looking at bumpers since I joined the forum. Want a stubby. Narrowed it down to the Rugged Ridge HD or the LoD Signature. Think I'm going with the LoD, as it is tow rated.

I ran LOD's Signature Mid-Width on my JKU and the quality of the welds, powder coat and install was 10/10. Would def recommend it.

So, I also have a Mojave and just replaced my bumper yesterday. I wanted to stay as light as possible while not modifying the frame at all. I went with the Rock Hard 4x4 Aluminum Patriot Series stubby bumper. It also replaces the skid plate and has holes for a top mount winch incase you decide you want one later on. This bumper comes in at 30lbs and the factory Mojave bumper/skid is about 38lbs.

If you like the first option, these two were on my short list as a replacement incase my Jeep doesn't fit in my garage (once I have one). Although these are pushing your budget, I think they're well worth it.

Mountain off road Rock Proof Bumper (You can keep your fogs too!)

American Trail Products Fully Loaded Mid-Width Bumper (Once again, you'll need to figure out lights)

Also, with the Arcus bumper, you can replace the horns with regular D-ring attachments to shorten the length a bit.
