The bumper doesn't handle the force though - the winch plate does and if you use a snatch block and double-back, whatever you hook back to handles half the load.
Unless you mean the fairlead part.........??
My Warn bumper has an integrated welded winch plate, and the entire system is guaranteed against distortion with 12k of force. That’s a big reason o chose it.

Warn part number 101335.

That explains that - so your comment applies if the winch mounts to the bumper and not a distinct winch plate.
My winch was mounted and then the bumper went on.

Which is very common with steel bumpers. My stock bumper was the plastic rubicon bumper, so it had to go. I found that with an integrated system, including winch plate reinforcement brackets from bumper to frame, I was all set, and with a single vendor if support is needed.

That being said, if mine had the steel mopar bumper already, I’d certainly have purchased the Warn plate. My advice is more applicable to those replacing their bumpers.

There is a specific winch plate by Warn for the JT/JL steel bumper. It's on my wish list: Warn 101255.

... and it's $200-ish cheaper than the MOPAR plate

... and certified to 12k

I think Warn has easy to remember part numbers to encourage us to order them. I’m fine with being pied pipered.

If you have a steel bumper I would suggest a Warn winch mount and Badland Apex 12k winch. This setup has worked very well for me.
The exact set I have, just waiting for it to warm up a little to do the install. How long did it take ? Was it fairly straight forward ? Any tips / suggestions ?

Wow....that is significantly less expensive then the Mopar plate. I’m a bit embarrassed to say that I think I paid $750 for it. Everything is relatively more expensive up here though. The 2” Mopar lift was just over $2,400.00 for example.
wow where did you purchase your lift ? for example I only paid 1/2 that @ $1200.. I also have seen the Mopar winch plate @ $550-$600.

Canadian dollars? In either case, yes, many things are more expensive in many areas north of the U.S. I suppose customs, shipping, whatever.
