So how is that RTT working out, I looked at getting one similar but I decided to wait awhile before ordering one. I fact I was in contact with company building them overseas and got a offer for reduction in cost if I ordered multiple ones, but I don't have a place to store until I could sell the extra ones.

It's a Rugged Ridge Arcus stubby bumper. I did not order the optional bar over the winch.
My stock Rubicon skid plate fit without modification, and the led fog lights from my stock plastic bumper bolted right up. I did have to cut 2 small slots in the outer bumper to make room for the Maximus-3 tow loops. I also had to buy longer bolts to make it through the beefy tow bar mounts. I bought grade 8 shoulder bolts.

What is that to the left of the winch? Industrial grade 12v outlet?

Those look like light and brake hook ups to have the Jeep pulled behind an RV

Been working great. Just about the only thing I would change would be going with the wedge style. Originally bought thinking Id want/need the extra room. Turns out don't need that much. With the tent up high over the cab of the Jeep, I need to climb on the roof to pull the front down correctly. Still not terribly difficult, but the single pull down would be nice. 100% would purchase RTT again.

Hey, just saw this post. I really those Nu Camp tear drops! How has it been for you?
We have a Tab 400 Boondock. It's a really well built camper. And I love that the a/c is central. The heat is radiant. Very quiet compared to roof top units.

Nice setup. I have my Alu-Cab Canopy and JTR on order. Just waiting for both of them to arrive... Did you go through Juniper?

First overnight trip to GA camping and wheeling in Lake Russell Wildlife Management Area. The trails were easy with gravel, hard packed clay, and sand. Lots of cool trails and dispersed camp sites to explore.

The kitchen/sleeping platform is great! I added a 1/2” plywood “counter top” to make the tailgate a level prep surface.

The USB lights were plenty bright enough inside the Softopper. The Milwaukee 18v battery ran the lights for several hours.

Every time I look at those 3-4 person RTT’s, I just can’t work out how body weight can be supported by the half of the tent that hangs out past the vehicle.

Do you have to take special precautions when using that sort of roof top tent?
The ladder supports much of that weight. Internal frame straps in the tent work as cantilevers to handle the rest, and to support it until the ladder is set.

I use different setups for camping depending on how difficult the trail is and how many days I'm camping. I have a homemade trailer with a RTT... and I have a topper I sometimes convert into a tent... and recently bought a cheap tent to try for next year. Here are some pics...
