I need to buy 50 of these Godforsaken pins to practice on a piece of wire before I mess up my truck anymore. Best crimper other than a $600 TE Ergocrimp? This pin is used on the start button harness. I took this pic, luckily, before I ruined it and all the others I had. It's for 22 gauge wire.

Not that you asked, but some advice that may help. The crimp closest to the receptacle end will crimp with that tool with no problem since it's a "standard" open barrel that ends up looking like the letter B when it's done. This is the one that gets crimped into the actual conductor.

The other two wrap around the insulator to make the mechanical connection to help prevent the wire from pulling out. I think they are called Rollover Crimps because one side of each pair will be closer to the wire and the other will wrap around that one in the opposite direction in a concentric circle. The crimper will want to make them a B like the other. If you turn the crimp sideways or backwards and use a larger setting you can slowly get each side to bend the right way then finish it up by decreasing which opening you use one step at a time.

I don't know if that makes sense, hopefully it does.

If you have issues inserting the pin (like, it doesn't easily click into position) it's most likely that one of those two rollover crimps are not compressed enough, or are out of round.

A nightmare I never should have started
I’ve started projects I shouldn’t have. Many, many, many times. I seem to not learn. :) I’m assuming kill switch?

Good luck! I've done a bunch of the TE connectors with that tool - buy a bunch and practice

I bought these fancy crimping pliers for Molex connectors when I needed to install a new subframe on my KTM dirt bike.

I don't remember where I got them, probably Amazon. I don't think I paid too much.

If you're looking for terminals too I have a couple of leftover Molex terminals I can send you, if you want to see if they'd work for your project. Shoot me a PM if so.

I wish everything used Deutsch… I prefer the barrel connections hands down to the box.

This is what i've used for that same pin, available on Amazon. Use the 28-24 die. Once crimped, you must used a regular plier and squeeze the end a little bit so it will slide in the connector.

I think that's the other one I have - will have to dig into my crimper drawer.
