Gonna guess the rest of us won’t see this as an update and are gonna have to buy a taser to do this.
Yeah it seems that way...not too upset about it I guess, the taser has some nice features on top of adding this capability. Just a little disappointing that other models may not be seeing this added from Jeep.

I hope not, that be complete crap seeing how they did dangle this carrot early on, just to screw over all of the folks who bought the LE’s and first releases....
@JeepCares any update?

It’s just stupid, and aggravating....I’m sure like most of us here with Rubicons, you bought the Rubi to get the best OEM Off Road performance out of a midsize truck. The Rubicon has always been the showcase of Jeeps OR dominance (at least since 03). Even in prior years where they would come out with a variety of trims on the wrangler, the Rubicon always included all the options that revolved around OR performance. It might not have included leather seats, or upgraded paint jobs, or interior fancy’s, but It was the best of the best OR. Now it’s just some mid level trim while the Mojave takes the lead as being the best?!?!?!

Guys, get over it. It's a slightly modified Rubicon. It's a new model with actual features (unlike Toyota's latest Tacoma Decal Package). You should WANT FCA/JEEP to come out with new models. It's good for them and us and there are always ways to modify our Jeeps to upgrade, improve and customize them how we want them.

If you're "upset" now just wait 2, 3 or more years and see what they come out with. If you're irritated about the Mohave (should be "Mojave" ;) ) version you must not buy a new smartphone or other technology because those are always being improved.

I'm not losing any sleep over this - I haven't even put my order in yet (about a week out!) so if I really wanted to, I could just wait and order the Mojave...but the Rubicon is more appealing overall, and I can add the high speed locker function with the aftermarket.

It is just seems a little disingenuous for Jeep to have advertised that feature and talked about it in a way that they had to have known was vague enough that many would think they would be getting the feature added to their vehicle. I read @JeepCares posts about it, and they definitely left things a little open ended rather than tell people the feature would only be available on a new trim.

Anyways, it really isn't a big deal and I am happy to see Jeep doing new things. If I really want higher speed locker use, I will get myself a tazer and call it a day.

Lastly, while I get your point, its just a liiiiiittle cheaper to get a new cell phone than it is to get a new vehicle, especially a Jeep Rubicon...although I have to say with the prices of new phones these days I am not sure how much longer that statement will be true! :whew:

I think you’re missing the point....of course they’re always going to come out with new technologies, and really any car is outdated the second you pull off the lot. It’s the deceptive marketing practices by Jeep, knowingly touting hi speed rear lockers and the “Off Road+” system they developed and how Off Roaders are gonna love what they did blah blah blah.....which in turn makes the Rubicon even more appealing to people. Then you don’t include It in your “flagship” off road truck, wait until the initial first purchase wave is over, and then launch another trim level more capable than your flagship truck, not even a year after first release?!?!?! Yup, It IS aggravating!!! We all know they could just push a software update to override the 4lo requirement. As @PhantomChameleon said, I don’t think anybody’s losing sleep over it, and I’m still more than happy with the purchase, but just be a decent truthful company, “dangling carrots” is the oldest trick in the book when It comes to sales, except in the end the buyer usually gets to eat the carrot...lol, also as noted, people have been hounding @JeepCares for months about this, for them only to respond “oh we’ll look into that for you”...,short of them just being some random 3rd party company jeep hires to schedule oil change appointments for people, they had to have known...

The Mojave isn't more capable than the Rubicon, it's differently capable.

Well, short of a full release of detailed specs, from what they have released its definitely more capable, Approach Angle: R-43 M-44.7, Breakover Angle: R-20 M-20.9, Ground Clearance: R-11.1 M-11.6, Larger Upper Control Arms, 2.5in Fox Shocks with external reservoir, hydraulic Fox bump joists, 1 inch lift up front, reinforced frame....and of course the rear locker in 4hi....It does lose .5 degree against the Rubi on the departure angle( 25.5 vs 25) and also gets knocked down to 6000lb towing....but damn, seems like an upgrade!

No sway bar disconnect, only a rear locker as opposed to both. Different crawl ratio. And the Rubi will get the locker in 4HI, as confirmed in this thread.

Different Jeeps for different purposes.

Yup. Reasons for waiting for '21 are accumulating. While I don't necessarily think the Rubi price will decrease, I feel like the included equipment may increase (added value).

So the '20's won't get this as a software update? What about the '20 Mojaves? They're advertised with it but won't get it?

Still waiting for selective tire fill alert on my '20 rubi, you guys shouldn't advertise stuff that you don't plan to put on the vehicle, that's two functions that were advertised that I didn't get on mine, both things I would definitely use. Looks like prospective '20 mojave buyers are getting sold a bill of goods as well...
