Mopar seems to have noticed that the bolts that secure the sway bar supports to the frame were too short.
I lost one last week, and I see that several others had the same thing happen.
I got two of the new bolts that are 70 mm in length. I think the older ones were 56 mm (edited) and didn't even go all the way through the nut in the bracket.
The new bolt is part # 06513320AA

Now that they're installed and with a little Loctite on them, I am ordering some 12mm x1.5 nylock nuts to add to the extra threads on the back side for added security.

I believe many lug nuts are that size and pitch as well, so you could do that and have a thread protector too.

20mm is a heck of a difference in length!

And smart move on the Loctite and nuts. There's a lot of stress on sway bars.

I just went and checked the old bolt. It's 56 mm, but it has an unthreaded and reduced indexing tip of about 3mm.
On mine, even the tip didn't clear the nut in the bracket, so it was probably only holding on by about half of its threads to begin with.

Can someone post a picture or illustration of where these bolts are? First time jeep owner here and I want to check this but not sure where to look.
Thanks.

My Metalcloak kit only came with one set of bolts, they weren’t long enough to go through both the stock nuts and the Metalcloak supplied ones. I went and bought a 2pack of longer bolts at HD, no big deal. Oh yea I had to drill out my OEM bolts?. I’d rather depend on the Metalcloak brackets and new bolt/nut.
If I had the right equipment to drill or press out the OEM nuts I would’ve and just used the shorter Metalcloak bolts.

First picture is driver's side, second is passenger side. No time to measure but they are sticking out past the nut. Ecodiesel by the way. Not sure if it makes a difference. Also ordered last year March, picked up April 30th.

My metalcloak kit came with only two bolts and they were m12x1.75, not 1.5.
Going through my old bolts and seeing if I can find a match. So far only finding 56mm.
