not my first but been a while... Did a RK 3.5" kit on my 2016 JKUR a while back... I think the Clayton kit is simpler to install as the RK kit was a PITA due to jam nuts on both sides...

I have a question on install timeline,

what should I be looking at time wise for an experienced Jeep shop to install a 3.5" overland + lift kit on a JTR? I looked on the install guide but didn't see time mentioned.
They will also be installing steersmart steering...not sure if that would play into it or not.

We usually say about 6 to 8 hours for the list itself! This will of course vary by shop, but this is usually pretty accurate

So just finish yesterday installing the Clayton 2.5 overland diesel kit. I think it came out pretty well

Installed using some shock extensions as I am not certain exactly my ultimate shock (probably coilovers) it netted roughly 4" on front but seems to come up a bit short on rear at around maybe 2.25" of lift.

May need to call Clayton.. may have received wrong rear springs.

My build is still pretty much stock with factory steel bumpers, no winch yet.

Overall I think it looks pretty good but need to figure why the rear seems kind of short.

Clayton lifts lift the front more than the back. They are designed that way. How MUCH more depends on how much weight you have up front (steel bumper, winch, lights, etc..)

My 2.5" overland + netted about 4.5-ish inches up front and 3.5-ish inches on the rear. That's with adding 35's which added and extra 1-ish inches as well. So deduct an inch for the lift only. I've got a heavy full width steel bumper and warn winch.

Hey there! The truck looks great by the way. Just wanted to try and help with the spring height questions, we do design our lifts to remove about half of the factory rake, which means you gain a little more height up front, but it should never sit taller than the back.

From the factory you have about 2" of rake, after our kit is installed you should have 1" of rake remaining. Usually we advise measuring from the ground to the bottom of the rock rail in the front, and then the same thing in the back, and you should find you're sitting about an inch taller in the back. Hope this helps!

Yes, sort of!

The kits lift the front more than the back, but only to help the front "catch up" to the back a little bit, since there is about 2" of rake from the factory. Not taking the 35" tires into consideration like you mentioned, you would have probably measured the back at around 3" of lift net gain, and the front about 4", and the back would be one inch taller overall than the front! Hopefully that's not too confusing!

Question about your rear track bar.

Will it go as short or shorter than OEM rear track bar? Have a relocation bracket on a 3" lift and want to make sure your track bar will fit, got a 37" spare to fit in there
