I’ll be going with the 813 dead pedal mostly for the momentary switch. I like the old school styling of the switch being there like the old bright switches for my air horn install. That way nobody can see me hit it and I can lay on the regular horn and the air horn at the same time for when someone is REALLY stupid. Or just to get the kids when they get out for school in the morning.

II went with 813 as well. Excellent pick.

Checked out your 813 pedal and that’s just insensitive of them showing that bolt with the nut so clearly and cleanly off it . . . . .

The one I have is by Eight 13 but mounts the same. I installed it using a 1/4" impact and 2 extentions. Once you know where the nut is, it isn't much trouble to get a 13mm socket on it to run in and out

The one I installed was similar and what helped my was a deep socket on a flexible 1/4" extension driven by a impact drill/driver.

Check your inbox.
It’ll be a bit. Gotta wait for gas prices to come down so I can afford Jeep stuff again. :CWL:
You just sit at a station and wait for someone to go inside for a snack, grab their nozzle, fill up, put theirs back, and go.

Leave a penny, take a penny. Same difference.

I had some email discussions with Jeremy on this. IIRC he has a JT Launch Edition. Could be that the bolt was a lot easier to remove. When I told him of my problem he was stumped. I hit that nut with a breaker bar and impact wrench and it didn't budge.
Aside from off road activity dead pedals are a right of passage. By the way, when you go shopping for sockets follow Col. Troutman's advice and get a "good supply of 10 MM sockets". ;)

Thank you. I tried an open end wrench and a crescent without luck. The plastic surround is deeper than it looks in the picture. I’ll get a set of deep well sockets, as I’m sure I’ll get use out them down the road too.

Pretty sure I could get a 12" plumber's wrench to work as well if I tried. ;)😁

My nut is deeper set down below the top line of the plastic surround. So you cannot get a wrench around it. The plastic effectively makes a separate raised collar around the nut.

Your nut looks like it’s above the plastic, so that’s a heck of a lot easier to get to! Wish mine were like that.

I got it, and pretty quickly removed the switch because it does limit how far up your foot can rest. I wear size 13/14 shoes so it may not be an issue for everyone. But doing 300+mi trips I like to have a lot of ways to rest my foot. ymmv

Zero issues removing the bolt and certainly didn't have to contort my 6'5" frame weird to do it. I also don't see why people struggle with the security gateway harness. I don't remove the kick panel or use extension cables - it's easily doable entirely by feel.

Im in a Red zone of SoCal. This would get an Adz Woopin in a half a heartbeat. I’d do the same if someone tried it with me.

Noted. I think I’d be ok. Random blasts from the air horn just keeps everyone awake. :like:

I actually wondered about that. So much bolt sticking out just find a nut that fits and mount it ā€˜above’ the existing nut.
Same dead pedal here. I tried that first, but the pedal moved around too much for my liking.

To get the factory nut loose, I hit it with some Ballistol (like wd40), put a wrench on it, threaded down the spare nut the pedal came with to hold the wrench in place, and then swung a mini sledgehammer into the open end of the wrench until it broke loose.
