Not at all surprising that a dealership would make up "limited availability" bs. Scarcity tactics seem to be their very first go-to approach. Honestly, dealerships are the worst thing about the whole automotive industry. Obviously there are some good ones out there, but the sharks sure seem like the vast majority.

Dealers will take advantage of anything they can. That said — dealer lots are looking shockingly scarce around here lately. So if they’re lying — they’re secretly hiding vehicles off lot somewhere.

All my local PA Jeep dealers have had the same Gladiators sitting on the lot including some 2020 models for months with not one being sold.
It's weird. Here in IL, our local dealer is selling them like hotcakes. Apparently, they were moving JT's faster than the JL's. All of the Gladiators that were on the lot when I bought mine (4) were gone and replaced with different ones within 2 weeks. In that time, only one of the 4 or 5 JL's on the lot had been sold.

Earnhardt in AZ is the place to go. Still offering over 5-6k off msrp. Got around 8k off on mine 8 months ago. Not as good discounts but still good. There’s still good dealers out there just gotta find them.

Picking up this afternoon a 2021 High Altitude Gladiator at Ourisman Jeep in Chevy Chase Maryland, discounted $8300. Some dealers are discounting.

I think some models are discounted more than others.
It seems like the sport max tows, Mojaves and Rubicons are harder to get down than others.
Possibly because of what they are.
With that said. I brought mine home last night. Paid more than I should have but I was also on a time crunch due to a 3000 TDM coupon that had to be used by The 30th
Between the dealer games and them not responding or getting back to me. I had to decide whether to let it go or use it... I used it.
NEXT TIME I WILL ORDER MINE!

Oh, and if anyone has a coupon and other members in the house purchasing a jeep. Watch the dealers don't accidentally apply the coupon.
My daughter who lives at the same address purchased hers earlier in the month. The dealer she purchased from applied (then backed out)the coupon after I told them they could not use it. When I went to purchase, the coupon was showing up as redeemed. I lost about a day of negotiating and several deals trying to get the mess straightened out. I had 2 dealers say they were not going to even consider any deal involving that coupon.

I'm in Delaware and dealers never give discounts on Jeeps. They will tell you there is no discounting them. That's why I buy in PA. That being said the dealer I bought from is still offering the same discounts as they did when I bought in March. And this is on stock and orders. There are others in PA and MD still discounting too. I can put you in touch with my guy in PA if you are interested. Shoot me a PM.

I wasn’t quite ready to but when I actually bought back in fall. I figured I’d be doing 6 months of research and soul searching and then just buy in the spring. This conversation is validating my decision. (Was also my last chance at a Gobi.)

What's the MSRP of the one you got (if you don't mind sharing)? Interested to see the actual percentage discount you were able to secure. Thanks!

Has any one in the mid atlantic states noticed the dealers are not discounting as deep.
The chip shortage seems to be causing them to hold on to their pricing more.
Based on the gladiator build worksheets. I should be able to get at least another 1000⁰⁰ off pricing.
It seems to be across brands in the name of "chip shortage".

I paid $46k for my fully loaded Overland. MSRP was $57k. Low KBB trade value now is at $48k.
Good resale if someone needs to sell.

I live in Northern VA and I traveled to Ourisman in Bowie MD to get my Mojave. The dealer had 35 JTs all but 1 was manual (I was looking for a manual) and all were soft tops. I ended up getting a really great deal too, I estimate ~9% below invoice based off that Google Doc spreadsheet

the "chip shortage" will probably be used by any salesperson to hold gross whether it is real for them or not. most people will have heard something about that and be ok with the higher price. confirmation bias is a powerful thing...
