Who knows, I posted the entire text conversation in the leasing thread. she basically said, you're coming from Wisconsin? I said yes and that i'm willing to travel for pricing under invoice, then she just tried selling me the JT at like $600 under MSRP. After I questioned it, she stopped replying.
Yea that is very off putting, even with having my order in at correct under invoice pricing.

Sorry for getting your hopes up/misleading you or anyone else.

oh no, its a crap shoot, you never know which way things will go. We're simply sharing information and sometimes the info isn't aligned is all.

I guess I'll add mine even though I made a rant thread about it. Pell City mcsweeney dealership is charging 5k over MSRP and toatal asses. They even want you to go through a pre approval process before you can even take a test drive in anything new or used

The way i interpreted Kates text was that for incoming JTs she couldnt do the same 5% under invoice she can for customer orders.

I certainly understand the concept of supply and demand in our capitalist economy, but to me charging thousands over the MSRP just does not seem right. It is unfortunate that Jeep allows this to happen, as many other reputable auto manufacturers do not. That being said, to me the fact that a dealer will charge excessively on your purchase is very telling--to me it says that they are in this for the short term, and that building a relationship with you is unimportant. How would they handle future problems/issues with you if they are obviously willing to chase a buck so greedily? For that reason I would personally never have any dealings with these dealerships, and I am posting what I have found out in the KNOXVILLE, TN area:

1) Harper Jeep/Alcoa--This dealership was recently purchased (5/1/19) by the Harper auto group, which has several auto lines
(Porsche, Infiniti, Audi, VW, etc.) in the Knoxville area. Harper's has BY FAR the most reputable and well thought of dealerships in this area, and I have personally bought numerous new and used vehicles from them. They are outstanding, and the fact that they bought a Jeep dealership is one of the main reasons why I am looking at a Gladiator. They are still waiting for Gladiator stock (new kid on the block)? They will NOT be charging a premium over MSRP.

2) Jim Cogdill Jeep--Not charging adjustment per se, but charging $995 over MSRP for "paint sealer", etc.--hmm

3) Lenoir City Jeep--Charging $5495 over MSRP, and making no apologies for it--enough said

WHICH DEALERSHIP WOULD YOU LIKE TO DO BUSINESS WITH? EASY CHOICE!

These over MSRP dealers are not holding the cure for cancer hostage here. Market always finds a level and you just have to look elsewhere until you find it. Everybody is a socialist when they want to buy something and a capitalist when they are selling.

Building relationships with dealers and expecting fair pricing is pretty much a archaic practice if you look at the data of most vehicle sales. Service and late model trade in used car sales are the profit centers for new car dealers nowadays as the lions share of customers are no longer specific dealership brand loyal anymore.

I talked with a GM at a dealer yesterday and he told me that they are charging MSRP because everybody is and his job is to make money for the dealership. He said that when the demand for the Gladiator cools off they will offer deals. I told him that the demand is fabricated by the dealerships since there are literally 100's of Gladiators within 75 miles of my house and they aren't selling because not too many people are willing to pay MSRP and above. I also told him that every dealer that I contacted about a Gladiator and are charging MSRP will never earn my business, if they can offer deals later they should be able to offer them now.

I'm really curious how fast these trucks are moving because of what the dealers are charging and I wonder how pleased FCA can be if they aren't moving off the lots.

I just called FCA customer service and talked with Audra (spelling) and she indicated that FCA has no control over market adjustments some Jeep dealerships are adding. She said they are “independently owned” and that the MSRP is just a “suggestion.”

Interesting! They seem to be pinning it on the S in the acronym. It appears it is up to us to keep spreading the word about these dealers and the dealers that are NOT price gouging.

I’m trying to get a photo of the window sticker on a Gladiator on my local dealership’s lot so I can post it here and on Facebook. They have told me in an email they have a market adjustment of +$2,500.

I have also been shopping around in Knoxville and ET and surrounding area and no deals yet I have found. They won't discount any. MSRP is about the best I have seen so far.

New member but been a lifelong Jeep owner. I’m looking at wanting to order a Sport or Sport S for Maxtow and stopped today at Bayway Jeep Pasadena/ DeerPark TX today. Have 1 overland I believe so wasn’t interested but the price breakdown is absurd. Sticker 55,000 10k for lift and tires, 10k for ADM price 75k. I inquired about ordering and was told for +MSRP he would order what I wanted. I abruptly left.

Adams Jeep in Aberdeen, MD & Adams Jeep in Annapolis, MD both doing 5k over msrp and don't believe anyone is doing less. Nice people, but really terrible pricing.
