I bought these last year and they have done fairly well.
If I need more capacity I just series them. Of course $249 is the regular price at Lowes and they also have the case for $39.

Considering Amazon has it for as low as $179, it doesn’t seem as that good of a deal.

A 240 is not a 290. Different Wh and different max wattage

I picked up a Jackery 240 for $145 off Amazon Warehouse.

Go to Amazon and click on "new and used".

the "Used, very good " one I got was unused. It was clearly a return that was just lacking its packaging. All the chargers were still in their bags.

I combined it with a 100 watt solar panel and it does a good job of powering a camp site. If I need real power I can fire up the Honda EU2000. Its super quiet for a gas powered generator, but its not as quiet as solar.

If you dont' need it immediately, Amazon Warehouse often has great deals.

I also just picked up a Bell Super DH helmet. ($325) from Amazon Warehouse for $240. It was described in Very Good conditions with all accessories. When it arrived there weren't any accessories. So I spent 3 minutes on chat with amazon and they took another $50 off.

I was fine using the helmet as is, but out of curiosity, I called Bell and told them the situation and asked how much it would cost me to buy an extra set of cheek pads and head pads. They told me they would send them to me for free. I actually resisted a bit, but they insisted.

If you all don't know Giro/Bell/Blackburn has AMAZING customer service and a lifetime warranty on all their products.

Just curious what you can actually run with these? Seems like just an oversized phone charger.

If you are looking for it to run big stuff or things along that line then no its of no use. If your needing it to run laptop, cpap, etc while on camping trips its great unit. I have been using one for about 2 years on trips and like previous poster paired it with solar panel (60 watt) and I am good to go on trips.

How right you are. Good eye. I was going off of the photo of the unit. There’s now a 300, which tells me the 290 may be on the short list of becoming discontinued.

It runs everything I need. I dont' want all the comforts of home when I'm away. A string of LED lights, charge the phones. etc.

Though I have to say that I'm pretty pleased with the logic the Gladiator uses with its USB charge ports. I've noticed that they stay on for a while. (I believe 20 minutes) after you shut off the ignition.

So if I have a dead battery on the phone, I leave it plugged in when I go into the store or the gym and its got a bit of a charge when I get back.

I went to Bluetti and LiFePO4 technology over Lithium Ion for my Gladiator refrigerator (under my Tonneau cover) because of the better performance of LiFePO4 in high heat, safety, and more recharge cycles.

I use it to run my fridge overnight. works, for now, I bought it when I didn't have time to wait for one to ship. I will be getting a bigger one for the fridge and then using this for power in the tent and things

As I understand it, the 290 is a discounted 300 for sale through third parties like harbor freight and lowes.

Is is perfectly capable of running my fridge for a couple of days but I used it buy connecting the 120VAC charger to the port in the console (switches off with the ignition) and then running my fridge into the Jackory 12v port. Kept the fridge running overnight and recharged while running down the road.

It will not power everything, just depends on what your needs are, works for everything I need and like I said, I can series two if I need more amp hours.

Not to get to side tracked, but not a fan of amazon so I try every other source before give him his cut :)

The main point of the post is that you don't have to spend $1k to get into these, just do your homework on what you actually need. For $250 (or less) they can be very handy.

Yup. The LiFe batteries are much more robust. We're talking thousands of cycles.

If I had something I was using daily, I'd have spent the money. As it is, the Jackery with ~500 cycles will end up dying because of calendar age before I use even 100 cycles.
