So far, so good. It doesn't have tabs for lights, I added those myself.

The good: It fit well, my Rubicon skid plate fits fine (it's not attached to it but sits flush with it). Has brackets for the factory fogs, winch plate seems solid enough and accepts an Apex 12K winch. Comes with the bull bar. It weighs pretty much the same as a factory steel bumper. Looks just like the factory bumper. Comes with both the top red hooks and side D ring mounts (which I did not use).

The bad: Powder coat is on the thin side and the screws will have the coating wear if you have to frequently remove or reinstall them. I just masked them off and hit them with some rattle can paint. The hole plugs they supply are not real hole plugs and I bought real ones from Amazon. No installation instructions, had to figure out the winch mount brackets myself.

So, overall I'm happy with it. The price was right and when necessary, I'll repaint it in a couple of years as the bumper can be removed without removing the winch. I could have painted it over the powder coat before I installed it to help go longer but I was impatient.

just added a Rock Hard 4x4 Full Width Bumper to the JT. once you get hit a deer you'll usually want more protection. bumpers aren't something I am willing to be cheap on.

I had an experience like that one night in a Chevy 1500 on my way home from a hockey pickup hour about 0100. Some front end damage but drivable, no injuries except for the deer. In MA, you have the option to take the deer. Local cops came, looked at everything and asked if I wanted it. Of course I said yes.

The truck got fixed, we ate well and I have the hide on the side of my small gun cabinet.

If you want an authentic Mopar 3 piece bumper and don't mind used, my brother just bought one from a slavage yard on ebay. Seller has a good rating + sent him a offer for $510 after about 2 days on his watch list. Free shipping, hasn't been sent out yet, will update once it arrives.

Paint the gold hooks red, or keep the black ones, and you're set.

buy once, cry once is my motto. the aluminum one is right at the same weight as the plastic bumper.

I’d be willing to buy that if it’s what is advertised. I have a Rubicon so I already have the right tow hooks.

i think that a lot of folks who purchased that one had fitment issues from what I remember reading.

I've seen this one too that is very simplistic in design if I go away from the oem style.

Considering haven't decided on budget yet, why getting everyones opinion. Knowing the knock offs are neraly complete clones I'd probrably not but the mopar version as the minor inconviences outweight the cost differences since seem to be same steel thickness/quality.

What I'm considering so far:
1.) OEM styles - mostly the knock off steel one since found enough people that have them saying they're direct copies that basically just need to be refinished with some small parts needed.

2.) The rock Hard 4x4 zombie killer one, weight doesn't bother me that's what you'd be paying for really. Only consider weight if it's enough to nose it down more, but then thats an excuse to lift.

3.) Some similar spartan style high winged full width simplistic style. Decent budget friendly fine if anyone has one like the knock offs that have worked fine for them.

I do like the modular design, does anyone make that setup as a knock off of Mopar? I can budget for the Mopar just if others out there. I guess should say ive looked just wanted to see what other people were using ad well.

You will be fine OEM bumpers are crazy money retail. I would get a quote from a high end body shop and use those numbers. Depending on state laws you can get thay money and perform the work yourself. I have done this with a few vehicles and taking labor cost out you can get a few extra things.

Unfortunately not, even though it hit hard at highway speed it was alive long enough to run off into a muddy corn field somewhere.

I hit a deer in my TJ at ~40mph with the smittybilt XRC bumper. No damage at all, just some hair stuck in the cable. I mounted the rugged ridge barricade trail force HD bumper on the JT. Both are 3/16" steel.
