for those with purses, cargo pants, mc hammer pants, backpacks, hipsacks, unusually skinny legs, or always wear a jacket....you're good to go

if you just want to roll as yourself in a pair of regular fitted pants, fitness wear, office wear, shorts and a t-shirt...well enjoy the shit out of your bulge i guess

if you have been a front pocket keys guy your entire life and moving along into the 21st century you have to put a pound of butter in your pocket this is monumental annoyance that occurs all day long, technology should work the other way around...
These days I wear mostly "travel pants" from Costco, classic Dickies, St. John's Bay from Penneys - normal pants for my simple fashion tastes. I usually have my flip phone and the fob in one front pocket, keys coins, comb, and Leatherman Minitool in other front pocket. I have always walked around with something in my pockets. That's what pockets are for, right? Small bulge, so what?

I just don't see the big deal, but I have already acknowledged that others do.

Oh, and if you want to test roll starting it, press the key against the button and push it with the key. This activates the secondary, passive wireless module. But it still needs vehicle power to activate the computer, exactly as your 2016 did. You can be low on battery, but it can't be completely dead. The ignition computer and FI system need power first, which cannot be made from the alternator at low speeds.

This is just a computerized car thing, has been for some time.
Do not want to lie but I think i was able to start 2016 with battery disconnected or it may have been my 2011 Sonata (which I miss)

lol, if i were still all ribs and dink like in my 20's rolling in the carhartt's, leatherman on the belt, i would likely be alright, as i've been in the gym most of my life and have some quads, and don't wear baggy big pocket pants anymore, spend half my life in office environment, golf shirts, regular pants.....it's not a small bulge with keys and my credit card slide with a few cards in it, it might be if i was retired and living in dickies lol, phone in the other pocket is less noticeable with a full double thick battery case on it...so there's that

this fob feels like a scorned woman's revenge, a conspiracy against men for sure

Let's compare wallets and other keys... I carry a wallet that's barely bigger than a card, and about 1/3" thick. I *hate* big wallets. I haven't used a single dollar of cash since august of 2019, and rarely use cards so I only carry two (mostly use my watch to pay). I also carry ZERO other keys as my home and office are opened via NFC/RFID electronic locks, and...I have a chip implanted in my hand that operates those. I'm adding a scanner to one of my motorcycles to read the chip in my hand right now.

So the one key fob...meh.

on my instagram where i do post photo's @gladiatoryyc, my ajt and keys are there somewhere, i'm picky about how how that's set up, anyway, the physical key is on a very small ring with about 3 other keys, but heavily modified and the ring ground thin so they lay well together, that ring is on one of the spring steel type snap clips that snaps onto the opening on the plastic fob, so i can leave the fob with service people/installers etc. and take my keys with me, it's all quite compact so it will lay flush with the fob, my work access card has a thing rubber type stick on business card holder stuck to it as they are same size, my few cards go in it, and my goodlife barcode key which is really small, is glued to my work access card on the outside...the fob/keys and card gizmo get one pocket, the phone gets the other front pocket...well now a mask goes in the key's/card pocket too, and a seiko sarb033 and my beats wireless headphones (my closed door office when i need it, or for music when working out) around my neck and that rounds out my 'man kit' that i never leave home without, well the headphones stay home lots on the weekend unless i go to gym, but they double down as office/workout all week, they just hang around my neck lanyard style, i would jimmy rig something if i didn't have the AJT Designs fob and mods i have done, the fob would live in my jeep, a hidden kill switch to the fuel injection pump wire, install a two position key switch to that wire perhaps...anything to keep the actual fob out of my kit, just doesn't suit this streamlined always on the go minimalist dude

Tip... I think it's all in the conditioning. When I got my leather JK, and now with the JT, the first day I applied Meguiar's Gold Class conditioner to the leather. Then re-applied the next day, until it just couldn't soak any more in. I applied it heavy the first day, and didn't drive it again. I now clean and re-condition every 9-12 months. It stays looking perfect. When I traded in my 2015 for the JT, it was still nearly perfect.

I treat cloth cars with 303 fabric protectant. But my old JK with cloth always had a dirt look to it after a few years, and also a big guacamole stain. Hey, a guy's gotta eat on the road...
So what you are saying is do nothing and probably spill my own amount of food on there, not guacamole though, isn't the best strategy for seat care? lol

That worked for the leather in the Silverado I traded in. It was still in really good shape after fourteen years, and the only care it received was wiping off spills.

well quit taking it half way, public transportation, or limo service, or uber...you won't have to worry at all about piloting 2.5 tons of high speed death machines, not sure why you're driving at all, you won't even need insurance lol

maybe take another step further and get the tesla with auto-drive features, wherever the responsibility of piloting said machine in public spaces can put the responsibility on someone else...face palm

because i choose to engage far more in the driving process and have found my dream ride to be able to do so...i am definitely going to make complaints about the fob and the rfid for several reason but they are related to each other, personal carry comfort is a big one, this is a daily annoyance, and safety of a thin air connection to starting your vehicle without requiring the same to turn it off...ya, there's so much going on there and it doesn't need to be

as mentioned, we are so lazy as a species, the more the vehicle can do for us the easier it can do for us the better right? wrong, the freedom to choose to engage more and want less should also be there and it's not us you should be worried about on the road...it's you and anyone else that wants the easy button for things that are very serious and carry a lot of weight

maybe you'd prefer a transporter, like from startrek? well i'm sure that's for the masses as above...but i want to drive, i like to drive ;) and i like to do it without a small kitten in my pocket please
Maybe you should just ride a horse....no fancy gizmos to confuse you or get in your way. Heck, you don't even need to use a saddle.

i'd be down, things would be a lot safer, only the people qualified to own and care for the beast, as well as operate it, would be on one, the rest will be in the wagons where they should be

see where this is headed?

Horses are the ultimate self-driving vehicle. You can get drunk, pass out on it, and it will still go home. Perfect.

Yesterday I notice another wireless fob benefit I just take for granted. It's a billion degrees here in Phoenix, so when I stopped to get iced tea at a convenience store, I left the Jeep running. I get out, the key is still just clipped to me, lock the Jeep using the button on the door handle, and it's secure but running. Not possible in my JK. Get back and the door opens when I touch it, no fiddling with keys.

LOL, I got that nickname from my motorcycle club, because I said that in July, my leather riding gear gave me a terrible case of...

I'm definitely a princess about my car comforts now. The wife's car is very powerful and steers like a go-kart, which is fun, and not UNcomfortable, but not roomy enough for a big guy so I barely drive it.
