Thank you this gave me some great ideas. My dogs are always a PITA but I was thinking of some indoor/outdoor carpeting to give them a little cushion. Sand is my biggest enemy here so vacuuming would still be a necessity. Looks really good!

Did not. I made it where the seats are when I drive. I'm the only one who drives the jeep, and my partner is ocd and has to have the passenger seat even with my seat.

Lowes has a product from Rubber-cal that I'm going to be ordering to put on top. Doesn't need to be glued down so I can easily pull it out and hose it down when needed.
It will also allow me access to the hatches once I get them installed. Inside will be tools and recovery gear mostly. Will probably keep dog food there also when the girls are with us

Here's a little variation on the platforms. Not using it for dogs, just gear when camping/off-roading. Raised it up so there would be more room under it to store gear. Used 1/2 plywood to keep it light and left the ends open to be able to put gear in. Covered with an indoor outdoor rug from Rural King. Put the left over piece of carpet in the bed for a softer landing than the bedliner.
