Do the Mojave and Rubicon hold their value better?

Many, but not all. I didn’t select my trim level based on residual value though...
For me, it's literally the only time to consider the trim level. Capabilities over badges don't sort themselves out until the car enters a classic-phase. Using the previously mentioned Fox Body 'stang example, it wasn't until well after the car was old that people started to care about the notch-back 5.0L not-labeled GT. Through the cars run and a full decade after the "better badged" car sold at better values.

Or, if you want to use the other mentioned example, the Mk V GTI and the Jetta Wolfsburg 2.0T have vastly different values and are the same exact car with different badges and trunks.

Are you buying it to drive and enjoy, or to collect? If you're keeping it 10 years and buying it to enjoy, even if they all don't hold value at the same rate, the difference in trim cost is only going to be a few dollars per month. Ultimately, you have to decide what's the best decision for you. Good luck with your decision.

I'm not saying anything other than it's logical if someone wants to consider it as a factor.
