I just got a first aid kit mounted in my rig. This is what i went with:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T4HMQKN?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
its pretty solid. The molle straps are pretty weak. I ended up crimping them and just adding some tie wraps to secure it to the molle nets behind the driver seat. pretty happy with the kit though. I'm going to buy a new pen light to replace the small one that comes with the kit but other than that it's a great kit.

Simple first aid kit under the seat. I should mark location on the door. No one would find it if it were needed to be used on me

I always have first aid supplies in my Jeep.

Scherber Premium IFAK Kit Trauma Pack w/ SOF Tourniquet, QuikClot 4x4 Dressing, HyFin Vent Chest Seal, Israeli Bandage | Fully Stocked MOLLE Pouch for Emergency, Gunshot, Bleeding & Wound Care (Black) https://a.co/d/1h5xMJV

MediTac Premium IFAK Kit - Feat. Trauma Pak, CAT Tourniquet, HyFin Vent Chest Seal, Israeli Bandage - Black https://a.co/d/ah3nDOj

I have a couple of both these kits kicking around. I think I have the Sherber under the rear seat right now.

Then I have a more general setup that I put together. I use a 5.11 tiny sling bag as a "grab bag" for any outdoor activities. Tq's, israeli bandages, OTC meds, anti diarrheals, water purification, quick clot (various forms) , burn gels, big selection of various adhesive bandages, gauze, gloves, iodine, just about everything you'd want to try and patch someone up.

I dont have training on decomp needles yet, so I dont carry one. A suture kit would be nice, butterfly closures are all I have now. That's more training.

Well, looks like I need to get more training.

Also do an inventory of supplies.

Which is where threads like this always bring me, lol

Not commenting on anyone here, but the sad thing is that too many people don't know how a tourniquet needs to be used and end up blocking only the veins, not realizing the supply is deeper down. They don't apply correctly or tightly enough.
Not that I would or could - do it right, but I know enough maybe to stay out of trouble.
Very true. Like many things, it’s not enough to have the gear if you’re not trained to use it. I train every 2 years on Tactical Emergency Casualty Care for this reason.

but I was wishing I had bug bite wipes or something.
Backing soda paste can help with some stings and bites. It helps me with wasp or bee stings. Being allergic to certain drugs suggests that stings may cause me trouble so I always rush to apply baking soda made into a thick paste. Helps pull out the stuff.
But some bug bites inject compounds that anything on the surface just isn't going to help.
Ask Melissa Gilbert how bug bites can turn out.

This is what I have too, and then I added a little more to it to fit my needs.

I should add for those looking at buying gear, be careful what you buy especially as it pertains to tourniquets. There are cheap and knockoff TQ’s on Amazon that very likely would not save a life. I recommend buying from reputable vendors such as Rescue Essentials and My Medic.

One been looking for a good wilderness first aid course near me. Where do you do your training? Maybe they offer courses near me in Central Florida

I use a local person here in Fort Worth. He is very good. His focus is heavily on Active Bystander Tactical Emergency (gun shots and stabs). We run a lot of simulated events with blue guns etc. I’d recommend looking on the Stop the Bleed website for someone near you and then look into what types of scenarios they cover. You also might try searching for TECC near you. Tactical Emergency Casualty Care.

Great that you brought this up.
Absolutely first aid supplies should be carried, as to what and how much has to do with how far off the beaten path you’ll be.
I agree that some of these off the shelf kits are better than nothing. You really should modify it for your needs, antihistamines, pain & personal meds and stuff for probable injuries .
Keep in mind the most important kit you carry is between your ears! The way you react to an emergency and the training you may have are your biggest asset.
So, try to get some training, a first aid class, or similar . Even informal training with your local EMS .

Stop the Bleed gear such as tourniquets, packing gauze and compression bandages are important IMO. These often aren’t included in a basic first aid kit. There are a lot of otherwise very survivable injuries were it not for bleeding for which you have 30 seconds or so to react to. On a trail or a rural off road park, who knows how to find you or even if they can access where you are. Being able to TQ an extremity yourself could make all the difference in the outcome.

Impregnated bandages, nasal trumpets, plastic wrap, two tourniquet. Gauze, and some tape. All in a waterproof case from HF.

One in each car in our household. And wife and kids all have been trained how to use

It's important shit
