I got hit today in the rear passenger area of my 21 jtr. I was going about 35 on a 2 lane road, going through a traffic light when another car decided to turn right from a side street. Instead of staying in the right lane like she was supposed to do because I occupied the left, she veered into me.

We both pulled over and exchanged information. Neither of us were hurt. Her car took most of the damage which was around the driver's side fender.

My rockhard sliders saved my rear rocker panel and doors. They are scuffed along the bottom but don't even appear to be bent. My rear passenger fender flare has some scuffing though which sucks because they are painted. It also sucks because I just had my sliders re-powder coated.

I still have my original rubi rails but I don't think they would have faired as well in this accident. Rockhard sliders are built like a tank!

I guarantee your rubi rails would have caved in. My JK rubi rails dented up into the body on a rock on a trail ride. I ditched them for LOD Signature sliders. Those things are frame mounted and have taken some serious hits with no dents or issues.

Aftermarket rock rails are for sure a worthwhile upgrade over oem. Sorry to hear about the accident but glad the rails saved the body.

Glad you are ok.. looks like most of your fender scuff is on the clear protection film ... ? I second the RockHard... I have the same ones and they are solid.

Thanks, unfortunately the scuffs are on the paint. I don't think you can buy new painted fender flares. I'll have to find used ones or have it painted. We will see what the insurance adjuster says.

I bet those big solid sliders could take quite an impact and not give in. And attachment matters - cheap brackets to the frame with most of the support on the rocker panel pinch weld area just isn't going to help a lot. But solid bars bolted across to the frame....

I used to have a big F250 4x4 - RED in color.
I was in the left lane passing some vehicles on I35 and before I decided it was all clear and figured safe to move over, a woman driving a small white Hyundai decided she wanted over in the left lane while she was driving next to my truck.
I had a minor ding to the right fender and a slight bend in the front of the right running board (fixed with a crescent wrench to pull it back out)
However, the end of my rear bumper put a really nice ripple down the whole side of her car, front bumper to rear bumper. Assume it was the bumper of my truck - nothing else really stuck out far enough to do that sort of thing unless it was a spinning tire that grabbed and reshaped the sheet metal of her car.
I never bothered fixing the right fender the ding was so minor you had to see it in the right light to notice it. Bet he car cost a couple grand or more to fix - and this was in the 1990s.
What part of big red 4x4 did she miss?

Yes, like grills.
They can't stock painted parts, especially when paint colors may come and go.

I don't want to think what my Mopar Enhanced rails would do. Body mounted only. I hope I never have to find out.

2023 Gladiator Rubicon Diesel (2020 JTR was totalled)
Similar to last poster -t-boned by another driver. She was going 50+ Bent the frame and totalled 2020 JTR. The steps were N-Fab. Now have LOD Destroyers that are frame mounted on my 2023 JTRD.
