So, did you get out of your driveway? I read every post and didn't see the result.
Haha yeah man. Thought I posted that we got out and cruised around. Took the kids sledding.

Airing down helped a lot. Went and bought shovels since the storage locker is too far away!

Pics say it all.

Do you think OP would benefit from skinny tires for this situation?
Honestly, no judgement, but I think it is driveable. Little helpers off. A little rocking, back and forwards. Be outa that in no time. No need to change tires/pressure etc. (but if you aren't going to go fast why not, it does help). Be easier if the truck was parked the other way, but all doable.

Technically, the big win is doing the best with what you have... not a fan of the you need this to do that school

Just aired down. Didn’t see the duck mode until I got out and it’s hell trying to get into 4lo without moving haha. I’m certainly going to try duckmode today though if I can.

If you want increased contract pressure with the ground (packed snow and ice) then a narrow tire will provide better traction.

If you want reduced contract pressure to float atop soft bottomless snow then a tire as tall and as wide as possible will maintain mobility.

The Arctic Trucks are designed specifically for deep, unpacked snow. My Samurai on 35x14.50 tires that I mentioned earlier was essentially a 1/2-scale Arctic Truck and was unbelievable in snow due to its ability to float on top. But if all you're doing is driving on roads with packed snow and ice, a skinny snow tire is your best bet since you don't have to worry about sinking.

For some reason I can’t get into duck mode / speed select.

4lo, manual shift, hit the button and says it won’t go.

Suggestions?

So far front and rear lockers and airing down has been great. Aired back up now to 27 as I’m driving around the town a bit - but still need the lockers on. Lots of tire spin and ice/packed snow in certain areas

I’d highly recommend against driving around town with lockers on. They’re great for getting past a specific obstacle, but imo shouldn’t be used continuously. Speed control can’t be used out of 4 low. Even if you shift into 4low in neutral, the vehicle won’t consider it engaged until a few revolutions of the running gear occur.

Noted. I don't disagree - just kept hitting spots where the jeep was just spinning without them on.

I only tried speed control in 4lo. Do I have to be moving slowly before engaging Speed Control?

(I read quickly earlier how to engage it but nada)

Since it’s max speed is 5mph, I’ve never even tried it when moving faster than that.

Soery should have been more clear. Meant do I need to be moving to engage it or can I be at a standstill.

My bad. I’ve definitely enabled it at idle, but I think also with the brake on, but always after 4lo was already engaged. I’d all but guarantee that I’ve never used it with either axle locked. I actually use the feature to teach my 5 and 6 year olds to drive. It works great. They sit on my lap and I control the speed with the + - manual shift lever.

Hell of an idea regarding the kids. Mine are 8 and 4.

Going to test this right now. Think I had the axles locked in the driveway.

Still nothing.

Soon as I get into 4l and over into M1 (even with the brake on) the truck is just pulling against the brake. Hit the button and try and stay still, nada, hit the button and let it start moving and nothing haha. Just won't engage.

I have 8LUG Front and rear Axle | ARB® Air Locker® | 4.88 - curious if this has any bearing on not being able to engage speed select.

The compressor for the air lockers is tied to aux 1.

You must be in a different part than I am. No snow for us Monday afternoon and by Tuesday at noon we had well over 14+. It’s sunny at 17* now but with rain on the way I am about to find out what kind of mud problems we have.
Foothills of the Cascades off Hwy 2. About 30mi from the Bolt Creek Fire area.
