Well you’ve got me thinking of going to Nampa now.

How did the logistics of this transaction go down? Did you trade your GC or sell it before going? Did you finance through FCA to get an additional discount or use your own financing? Etc, etc, etc.

Thanks... Hope to see you guys on the trails.

We were looking at a Cherokee Trailhawk in January on Petersons' website and sent Kent some pictures of our 2015 Grand Cherokee, its mileage and Kent gave us a trade-in value. We didn't get the Cherokee because the FCA diesel settlement wasn't completed yet and, as Sunny mentioned, we didn't really feel it was comparable to our GC. After the JT LE was announced we emailed Kent about it. He wrote up the deal.

On the 2015 GC trade-in, we had put another 10k in mileage since January but our Petersons' trade value only went down by $500. Combined with the diesel settlement check, we ended up trading it in for what KBB private party in "excellent" condition listed. Not only that, when we drove from Colorado Springs to Nampa, ID. we put another 1k miles on the GC and I expected them to look at the GC and nit-pick some $$$ cash off their offer. Nope!

Here's the process:
  1. You spec the order with Kent ([email protected])
  2. Kent sends you back a deal sheet with your options spec'd
  3. Discount is listed + dealer fee + docs ($300-ish)
  4. $1k deposit that also is your downpayment
  5. Finance is where they make their money, they source the loan. You need to make at least 6 payments to that back before refinancing or paying off.
  6. You make a big first payment, like what you would do for your downpayment, and then continue to pay or refi after your 6th payment.
  7. If you don't want to drive/fly he will help setup up 3rd party delivery

The hardest part of this is waiting for your JT to show up. If you do go this route tell Kent we sent ya!

Awesome video. Don’t look at the comments though, they are a little racy.
