Did you already install the tunes or were you waiting on the exhaust? Curious how it runs and if you think it was worth the money to delete.
You have install the exhaust prior install the tune, which was installed post haste. It took4 hours and two cuts (because of rusted bolts and I didn’t want to fish the stock resonator over the axel) to remove the exhaust, which I’ll hang onto for a worst case scenario.

I Took a trip today to Dutch Wonderland and was getting 28 mpg with a 2” lift and 35s doing anywhere from 60-80 mph. It was a tough pill to swallow knowing I was voiding the warranty but totally worth it. This is now the diesel I thought I was buying!

Did you need any gaskets for the exhaust? Asking for a friend,,,,

What I want to know is how come gasoline cars finally figured out reliable emissions stuff, but diesel still can’t. It’s why I don’t have a diesel gladiator.

No sir. But I did reuse the gasket/shims from the down pipe because I was able to.

Two systems that work to filter out different pollutants. However, If you remove the emissions from a gasser you’d still see increased horsepower. With diesel, you also see increased MPG

i disagree … gas has it pretty figured out for the most part …

diesel JUST started with this emissions crap in 2007 and the mechanisms are drastic.

gas started emissions systems in the mid 70’s (some as back as far as the 50’s), so it’s had more time to mature and the systems are not that mechanisms are simple … but they sucked for about 2 decades.

today I would ADD a catalytic concerto to any and every classic car I’m messing with, no hit to performance and exhaust won’t burn your eyes … at this point it’s all positives.

that being said, diesel emission systems are stupid, unreliable and the pollutants from a diesel are not as terrible as those 70’s cars were.

Does the exhaust from Eoc run from the turbo back, or downpipe back? The wording makes it confusing but it looks like it’s downpipe back. And did you get trans tuning as well?

Turbo “elbow” back … look at your exhaust now and where the V Band clamp starts, the EOC exhaust starts.

it would be nice if there was a nice high flow turbo elbow. It’s possible it’s integrated into the exhaust turbine housing, I can’t really see it that well

Like Eric said, it’s from the turbo back and I did get the trans tune but I have yet to apply it. As it sits right now it’s amazing and I don’t think you’d miss the trans tune but I will be hooking it up this weekend.

Please update after you do as I'm thinking HARD about doing this. It'd be great if I didn't "need" the trans tune. But if it's that much better than I'll get it for sure.
Thanks!

Trans tune is definitely not needed but it shifts more like how you’d drive a manual. When breaking, it downshifts holding the gears better. When accelerating the torque converter locks up sooner and it holds the gears longer. I don’t think I’d miss it if I didn’t have it but I bought the entire package from MR Tuning and why wouldn’t I at this point?

I’ve been kind of comparing the EOC tuning with the MRtuning. Is the software offered with the MRtuning pretty good and user friendly?

I like how EOC now offers switching tunes on the fly, but it’s kind of pointless if the tune resets to the economy tune every time you cut the truck off. I was always into Efi live and H&s tuning software so i always preferred to have the computer capabilities, but it doesn’t matter much on a bench flash tune either way.

If you reside in California I would suggest not tampering with emissions equipment unless you are a migrant.
I self identity as an undocumented migrant, will that work?

They have, the I6 Duramax with it's low pressure EGR has basically no failures, and is likely the future.
