Can you tell me who/what you used?
My local diesal shop did it a year ago. They did a custom 4 inch pipe and then they did a 50 hp tune. Its really not a big job the trick is to find a guy for the tune. If you do it, make sure you keep all the parts that comes off. Its worth a lot of money.

do either of you happen to know if this would affect the powertrain warranty, or just the basic. With the basic up at 36k, which is right around the corner for me, I’m itching to get started. The only thing I’m STILL waiting for is the HPFP recall work.
If it will be an issue for my 100k mile powertrain warranty, I’m not sure I can wait that long. I’m so tired of this def system!

Deleting emissions is a direct violation of your warranty, and it says so directly in the manual. I would say you will have a hard time finding a dealership that will warranty your powertrain once it's deleted. You will have no recourse if they deny it as well... and if the shops a real prick, they'll report you to the EPA.

This is coming from someone who is also going to be deleting their vehicle the moment it's out of warranty. Another option is to do a Stage 1 delete on a cloned ECU so you can at least disable the EGR, which will help keep that engine in tip top shape until you're completely out of warranty.

Just food for thought. I know a few Gladiator EcoDiesel owners who have deleted at nearly brand new and just said screw it with the warranty.

Fully agree with @RoamingGladiator, I have to assume the powertrain warranty would be void after the process is completed. That said, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat!
thanks to both of you for the input. I think deep down I knew the answer, it was just the little ball of hope inside that it wasn’t true. I am starting to lean towards saying screw the power train warranty. I know conventional wisdom says that’s a terrible idea. But my fomo and disdain for these diesel inhibiting rules are growing.

I would recommend at least doing a Stage 1. Deleting the EGR will immensely help your engine life. You can just clone your ECU and get a Stage 1 tune from EOC on it. Then you can just pop in your factory ECU whenever there's a warranty issue.

Then full delete after warranty. Just my two cents!

I like the idea of that, are there any cons to it? Like increased DEF usage or something? This is my first diesel car so most of my knowledge comes from this forum!
And is there a recommended kit for the JT like there are for other trucks? I can’t imagine there is as much interest from the 3.0 world as say in the power stroke world.

The only company you need to concern yourself with for everything and anything EcoDiesel delete is EOC (EcoDiesle Owners Canada). They are by far the most recommended company for EcoDiesels.

They can be a bit slow to respond... but just email them, they'll get back to you (May take a week or two). There is no downside to a Stage 1 as far as I'm aware, it electronically disables your EGR which is the system that just loads soot into your engine. If you ever need a warranty claim, just pop in your stock one and no one is the wiser. The DEF system stays intact, but Chris from EOC can answer all your questions.

Once you're ready for a full delete... they'll fab you up a beautiful exhaust via T&S and they have all the parts for both engine & transmission tune to get you set. EcoDiesels are great engines, take care of them and they'll serve you well. Like any brand... there is failures. Most of the modern diesels are dealing with the CP4 pump failure shit. There is a CPX kit that you can replace that CP4 with that fixes the CP4 issues. I change my oil far more frequently than the recommended maintenance schedule as well... just peace of mind. I do an oil change every 7,500km and my lab results have been lovely.

PS - When you delete your vehicle, keep the emission parts incase you ever want to sell. You'll need to return it to stock form to be able to sell it to any dealership.

You have the e-mail address for EOC?

I'd do the stage 2 now and if something major happens and you have to take it to the dealer just put it back to stock. Would only take a few hours if you cap everything off and don't cut things. Just my opinion.

I would tend to agree with this if you're mechanically inclined and feel comfortably fully reverting to stock whenever you need to go to the dealership.

Stage 1 is just a bit easier time wise, since it's just an ECU swap whenever you need to go in.

I'll let you know LOL. I'm in the process of getting tuned on this Gladiator and debating on doing the race tune for shits and giggles, just takes a while from a turn around perspective.
