Just got my first one back on the ecodiesel. Have done a few things to it in the past few days so I'll change the oil again in a couple of weeks.

HPL 5W-30 and 10W-40 are the best oils we've seen that hold up well against shear. We've seen up to 18,000-mile intervals with HPL with great results.I have noticed that my viscosity is on the low end or just below where Blackstone says it should be..
As for wear numbers, Amsoil MS has been a top performer. It also holds up well in factory tuned engines. I was going through a quart of oil every 2,000 miles of towing with Pennzoil Platinum. I don't have that issue with Amsoil MS.Some recent reports from users of Shell Rotella T6 and Amsoil Euro that had better Aluminum and Iron results than I have had, but reports were only for a single change interval.
I noticed that the report showed "tuned". What tune do you run? Here are my Blackstone analysis results for my past six oil changes. I have always used Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W/40. I have noticed that my viscosity is on the low end or just below where Blackstone says it should be.

I'll continue to watch for results from them and decide if I want to give one a try. I feel like I have a good sampling of results for the Pennzoil Platinum Euro in my engine by now.![]()
Yeah, the GDE Afterlife tune is the one to go.I noticed that the report showed "tuned". What tune do you run?
My GDE EPA legal tune shows higher fuel dilution than I like.
I know. Having to state my mileage when it's not quite where it needs to be to be in compliance is the problem.Yeah, the GDE Afterlife tune is the one to go.
I can appreciate your honesty. All three of my Ecodiesels are bone stock and that's because I've followed the federal emissions laws. I live in New Mexico in which I can buy a brand-new truck today and delete it tomorrow; however, that doesn't make it legal to do so.I know. Having to state my mileage when it's not quite where it needs to be to be in compliance is the problem.
I have the same tune, GDE EPA legal since 44,700 miles, so for the last three oil change intervals.I noticed that the report showed "tuned". What tune do you run?

You can do two things at once. It's okay to monitor the condition of the engine and still set aside money for future repairs. I can't speak for everyone, but oil sampling isn't something I do because I'm worried. Oil monitoring gives me the confidence to keep driving my vehicles knowing that there isn't an underlining issue. Actually, I would be more worried if I didn't take oil samples because then I'm not monitoring engine health or detecting potential mechanical issues. The idea is to detect issues before they result in a catastrophic failure. This is my oil monitoring method.. No sense in worrying about mine.
Jeep won't warranty the damn thing anyway so might as well drive it unstressed till it blows and keep the 20K under the matress it will take for me to drop in a new crate motor.
Yep. It's like never going to doctor for blood work and tests, then suddenly you have to get a million dollar quadruple bypass. You can do two things at once.
