I've just tried ordering the ECM from 3 different places online, but no one has them in stock and there's timeline to get one in. Anybody know where you can get one?

That's the first place I tried, they are out.
That sucks, sorry to hear that. I'll update that website mention so folks aren't trying them for no reason.

No there will be no red security light
How long does it take? Jeep had me in and out within an hour but surely near half of that was pulling the truck around, pulling it back out, writing up the ticket yada yada.

Pull the ecu out of the gladiator, 5 min, then 5 min to read the ecu, and about 10 to flash the new ECU. Then reinstall ECU.

@Benharris I called my local Jeep dealer and they said they show over 20 dealers with them in stock just in our region. You might be best off just calling your local dealership and asking them who is the closest showing inventory for that part number. I didn't do this because it was $70 cheaper to get it from that east coast moparts place.

My truck was in the shop for 3 months getting a new transmission, it had a small leak at the rear seal around 5k miles and apparently this part is not replaceable.

While it was there I asked for them to clone my ECU incase I had any emissions issues on my trip to the arctic circle. I was going to take the spare ECU with me. They did it no questions asked as I was already pretty put out having my truck there so long.

$310 for the ECU, $185 for the programming. They had 2 in stock, this was completed in 2 days and they put the ECU into the truck and tested it for me.

Some people wants their ECU to be tuned (power gain, etc), but it’s wise to have a backup of the original one may anything go wrong. One can do it at the dealership, or DIY. We’re just discussing how the DIY version would go theoretically.

For anyone looking for a PCM to create a backup/clone of your PCM as a spare, I was able to get one through an auto recycler/wrecker. For those in Canada check Car-parts.com, you can search what is available using the site. You are looking for the part "Computer Box Engine" when searching on Car-parts.com. Same part number (68256850aa) for Ram 1500s so you can search them as well.

The one I got was a used 2022 Ram 1500 PCM for about $200 bux. I decided to go that route since the couple places I called said they are on backorder (Canada and US). The last part that I needed which went on backorder last year took 4 months so I decided to take what I could get and it worked out great. I had no issues using a used PCM for the cloning procedure even one from a different vehicle as the part number matches.

Using the tool @Justinswidebody noted in post 15 (and some very graciously provided help from him, thank you for your time and knowledge!) I was able to backup my PCM and then write that backup to the used PCM I purchased. Afterward I just plugged in the PCM and it ran with NO red security icon on the dash or error lights whatsoever, truck basically saw it as identical to the old one. I'll have to drive with it for a few days and will update if there are any issues.

Happy to answer any questions if someone is giving this a go as there are a few tricky bits we figured out as we worked through cloning mine.
