I hate AIWB carry, especially when sitting down. It digs kydex into the pelvic girdle And causes a hotspot. I dont mind it walking around it street clothes; and its great for concealment and for making smooth edit social media highlight reels of draws, but it gets in the way of normal every day life things. Like bending over to pick something up. Or tying shoes.

ive got a molle panel on my seat jacker so i can move it from my waist band to the front of the seat.
Could it be an equipment issue? As in the type of holster you are using? A concealment claw and wedge help with comfort. My EDC carry now is a SIG P365 on an XL frame, Romeo 0 micro red dot and threaded barrel with micro-compensator. Before that it was a HK VP9 carried AIWB. Not saying you don’t already know all the above with holster configuration. I used to have the same issues until I got a nice quality holster.

im not trying to be a dick about this, so please dont hear it. Its isnt. Ive tried a bunch. Ive tried all the wings and wedges and loops and belts there is.

its a body mechanics issue For me. When i sit down, the top of my quads compresses into my pelvic girdle and now theres a bunch of kydex there digging into it. Same when you bend over to pick something up. Or have to kneel down. Or get behind cover. Or clamber something. Obviously its less with my 365xl or g26 than it is my 1911 Or beretta, but smaller guns with no rudder effect below the belt can result present their own issues.

appendix cary is great for draw speed. Ill grant that. Ill also grant its great for concealing a large frame side arm if you arent fat. It works really well, and walking around in daily life and street clothes going to the store is an example of a time ill use it. I mean, yeah, being able to conceal a STI DVC-P with dot and x300 is pretty dope. But im always looking to dump the rig as soon as i sit down. It makes taking a piss an entire production. It makes manual labor/chores a pain in the ass.

The reason i think appendix carry is popular again (it was in the 80’s) is because of social media. dudes on insta and youtube realized they could pull their g34 with extended barrel, comp, slide cuts and cerakote, and elcan specter dr 1-4 in a smooth edit highlight reel and rip off a 5 round rythm drill that looked and sounded awesome. “Aiwb’ing this thing is totally comfortable all day long. You just need the right holster. Here. Use my Instagunner discount code for 2.37% off.”

the other disadvantage to it is it being obstructed when you toss kit on, but thats a different matter.

i guess in short, its like anything else. If it works for you, awesome. Ill use it for times i just want to run out and grab something and i clip a gat on. But my preferred solution is still a double thick double stitched leather gun/trouser belt and a straight drop....

Ha! I didn’t take any offense to that. All of what you said makes sense. I have that same holster for my Sig 365 but with a tier 1 wedge added to it. That STI is nice. I just picked up the Staccato p duo a few months back. Waiting to get a decent red dot for it.

ive got the revamped Duo P also. Same dot. The holosun green. It works really well and has very little parallax. Its a smooth great running gun, although a prefer to carry a .45.

this is the duo p standing from 30meters on a one second shot break using a metronome. The slide timing is really, really good on the staccato and its easy to drive. Youll enjoy it. ?

That is a nice p365. Love the comfort and feel of that gun, and the black magic they are using to fit that many rounds in that thing, lol.

Thats the sight I’ve been waiting for. They just released some newer ones for 2021 and still waiting for them to drop ship. The gun certainly is a TAC driver. I’ve got no complaints and prefer it over my Wilson Combat.

Assuming you have the same seat-jacker that I do--and assuming you see this post eight months later--can you post a photo of how your holster fits on the seat-front molle panel? I hesitated to get the panel, as I didn't really see how it would fit very well.

I never understood this need. Why is it not just on you at all times unless you walking into a school or a gvt building? Transferring the weapon back and forth from self to vehicle multiple times seems like asking for a AD. I’m not trying to be a snob or anything, I just truly don’t understand the utility.

In Texas, you can't have the gun off your body without it being covered in some way. Those magnetic mounts are handy but illegal in Texas unless you threw a rag over the gun or something like that. I typically just carry on my hip, but I also have a small gun safe under the back seat that has a steel cable which I attach to the seat frame. No quick break and grab, it would take a while to get the gun out which likely means they would move on.

This still apply with the castle doctrine? My auto is an extension of my house.

Also, we can now open carry if 21 and legally able to purchase a hand gun.

Still apply as of September 1st?

I haven't heard of anything that changes the law regarding being able to see a gun in a vehicle. It has to be covered, or on your hip. If you have an LTC, it can be uncovered on your hip but those magnet mounts won't cut it here from what I understand. Now, if you put the magnet mount in your console, and kept it there, that would be fine.

You don’t need your ltc for a visible on your hip hand gun. Law changed.

Do you have the law about hand gun can’t be visible in a car? I don’t doubt you, just lots have changed as of this month.

Based on being rear ended yesterday, I’d avoid this set up. The force of the impact threw all the non secured stuFFL all over the place. As also mentioned as a WA resident this isn’t kosher.

Contacted my insurance company:mad:

was rear ended by a SUV that was rear ended by another PU truck

looks like I’ll need a new tailgate and rear bumper at least. Drove home fine, but do have concerns about suspension, alignment, drivetrain stresses that may not show up right away.

The SUV driver said he wanted to get a Jeep after seeing his damage compared to mine.

And of course the instigator (PU driver) doesn’t have insurance………
